To add onto 38, some people genuinely don't know how to stop playing video games, sleep, get over a crush or stop eating. There's nothing wrong with asking your community for anecdotes, advice or just general discussion. Everything may be a google search away but often times your community can offer more resonating insight because of shared interests/lifestyle.

This is the way. If the only way you're going to succeed is by limiting food in your presence then you will collapse in situations when it can't be avoided. It is not sustainable and you will fail eventually. You need to develop the willpower to eat what you said you were going to eat even while in abundance.

You can make a joke about it or try to make it into a joke and nobody is trying to make it into a joke. Nobody is saying "Oh haha, people killing themselves is funny". But telling someone to kill themselves can be funny because it is extreme and unnecessary. It's like putting out a candle with a fire hose or paying a black guy to follow you around for whenever you need to say "nigga". This is also why "rape" is so prominent in competitive communities, there are few worse things you can do to a human.

It's important not to censor things based on our feelings because what is considered offensive is 100% subjective and people will keep lowering the tolerance level to fit their idea of acceptable offensiveness. Why stop at "kill yourself"? What about "i don't like you", "you suck", and the devastating "you're bad at tf2"?

This is a case where adjustment needs to be made on your end. Understand the difference of making fun of something and using it as a comedic device. Stop taking things personally and don't try to change the world so you don't ever have to feel bad. Your state of mind shouldn't be based on what you cannot control.
