#39 6v6 NA Rules = EU Rules ? in TF2 General Discussion
shruggerI guess it is just a personal thing but i hate playing against the clock. I feel like the eu stalemates don't happen because the losing team HAS to push in with no advantage and take risks that most likely put them even further behind, since the winning team just has to defend/delay 6v6.

I've always found the mindset of wanting endless(or effectively endless) time to be able to always make the "right" play, and its resultant playstyle to be incredibly confusing from a competitive standpoint. Imagine, for example, how incredibly boring Quake duels would be if there was no time limit, or an incredibly high one.

Actually, raising cows is enormously inefficient from an environmental standpoint, because they are ruminants and therefore naturally produce enormous quantities of methane, which is a significant contributor to climate change:
http://epa.gov/climatechange/ghgemissions/gases/ch4.html

Not to mention the enormous amount of feed they require relative to pigs and chicken as well.

I believe the statistic I saw was, everyone would have a better environmental impact by eating red meat ONE fewer day a week than by eating only organic food 100% of the time.

You're kind of missing the point. Raising cows for meat is far more efficient than raising carnivorous animals for meat. No one at any point said it's more efficient to raise cows.

As for your point about methane and beef, I've always been pretty skeptical of the extremist animal rights nutjobs with a convenient environmental slant that claim livestock produce more greenhouse gases than industry, energy and transport. Or that vegetarianism/veganism is better for the environment.

Here's an interesting article on the topic: http://www.treehugger.com/green-food/in-defense-of-the-cow-how-eating-meat-could-help-slow-climate-change.html

Torturing the animals, and stealing animals that are other people's pets is very, very different from raising livestock for meat.

Additionally, while I dislike the idea of eating animals such as dogs, monkeys, etc, I would say it is no more or less 'immoral' than eating beef or chicken. I do, however, think eating carnivorous animals is absolutely stupid from an efficiency standpoint.

Also, this sort of thing happens a lot in SE Asia, but I don't think "culture" is a valid reason to be needlessly cruel.

Impressive. Did you make that in blender?

A few things I've made over the past year.

A mascot/character for an apparel/accessories brand. The brand died and the project was never completed

CuddlyKittenalfaThe closed beta is pretty great, except I wish they would have Competitive matchmaking enabled more. Pub stomping tends to get really boring.
Huh.. I've only been able to play the competitive matchmaking (and stopwatch). Anything else is grayed out for me.

Same. Finally got to play today, and I really like movement in the game. It's nothing compared to Quake, but it's still a refreshing change from all the shitty grey-brown, slow moving shooters out there. Can't really comment on the netcode/hit-reg since I was on 140 ping.
