Oliver's point in that episode (I don't watch the show) iirc was that it was a little silly to change your name to something like "Trump" insofar as the word has an extant meaning nearly synonymous with superiority, especially as D.T. has used the name as a branding mechanism.

The second paragraph of your post contains what would be a run on sentence but actually is not even a sentence because it has no predicate (unless the clause after the second comma was just a grammatically incorrect attempt at a predicate, can't be sure).

I don't know why I even try, it seems like the average Trump supporter has 20 less IQ than the national average (which isn't particularly impressive to start with).

If this election highlights anything, it's the abysmal state of education in this country that the "debate" has devolved to this level. No one seems to understand or care about policy any more. Donald Trump did an impression of a man with a congenital disorder on live television and refused to apologize for it. Not sure whats left to be surprised at after that.
