london_callingJasbuttsNever been to a Lanfest before, but interested in going. What sort of events go on over there? Are there tournaments, or just doing whatever?
most of it is doing whatever. PUGs and other games and then one day for the TF2 tournament. its a double elimination tournament that is more or less free for all depending on who is on each team. If you don't know a lot of people its possible to just find a team that needs more people and still play in the tournament.
Is there a skill level requirement for these? I'm honestly terrible and would probably be too shy. Watching the tournament sounds fun though!

VortexKanecohmm no sorry, its premise is entirely different, just the fact that you actually use comms. And mumble integration.I've played maybe 20 tf2center games in total now and I can tell you with all honesty that not one of them had all 6 players in mumble.
Its not the same as tf2lobby even if the community is the same
I'd like to point out that I don't mind, and I've even made a post a while back saying that I liked the casual atmosphere of tf2lobby. However, the people who talk in mumble for tf2center are the same people who used in-game chat in tf2lobby, so yeah it's pretty much the same.
Yeah, I think a lot of people don't have it still. It was a bit better when tf2center was in the limited beta for the first weekends, it seemed like the people that knew about it had mumble and knew how to play HL/6's.
I've liked it so far, better than tf2lobby. You still get some guys who are kind of new [I played a 6's lobby and one of our Scouts offclassed Engi for most of the game] but yeah, it is just a lobby so I wouldn't count on taking it too seriously. The readyup mechanics are nice when they're not glitching out.
