if she is looking to lose weight, cardio is good but the stationary bike is a bit sedentary (or, well, stationary). look up HIIT (high intensity interval training) - this training method really cuts your workouts down in time, too. really, you can lose weight by simply dieting. once you figure out your BMR and then your maintenance calories (the amount of calories you need to maintain your weight), you simply decrease that number anywhere from 100-500 and you lose weight. consume less calories than your body uses, lose weight - easy, right? i use the MyFitnessPal app (free) to log all of my food. at first it seems weird, but then you get used to it.
check out this thread on how to calculate your BMR - http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=121703981
i've personally used the Mifflin-St Jeor formula for both my bulking and cutting cycles with good results.
and yeah, 3 sets of 12 reps sounds good for her. but have her do about 9 sets per muscle group with light weight.
edit: rippetoes, eh? you fking sick of milk yet??
cyzerif anyone is interested in my lan povs, would they want to see my settings or really high quality settings?
edit: or should I ask this in a separate thread.
i would be fine with your settings, and having comms would be awesome too.
has anyone taken the time to e-mail Valve about this? I think between the Tip Of the Hats Fundraiser and this LAN event, they would make a post. I see they made a post about ETF2L 6's registration..
ProtatojoddI made one for Skial- can't really think of any other major pub communities now that we have Skial, Reddit, and LotusWhat about nighteam? I would post there, but I have no idea how to go about it.

thanks protato. I just simply registered a name and made the post.

i'm not a pug.na vet or anything, but i just helped out a user the other day who wasn't sure about bot commands, mumble commands, weapon restrictions, etc.
first, i gave him the link for the rules that's in the topic, and then i asked him if he had any questions. he was thankful then he played.
i got sick of tf2lobby very quickly and think i googled something to the extent of "tf2 how to join pug" -- i discovered and watched sal's video on getting into irc/pugs.
i've used atf2.org ever since. it really is that easy to start.
these following bands might not be as math rocky as the aforementioned, but they have some elements (noodly guitars, some odd time signatures, etc.)
minus the bear

"Spritz!!! Spritz!!!" from Highly Refined Pirates

"The Game Needed Me" from Menos El Oso
**minus the bear was one of the first bands were i truly appreciated the musicianship, and erin tate became a huge influence on my drumming.

i'm missing some good bands here, so i'm sure i'll be able to add more. thanks to everyone for these suggestions and recommendations. i'll definitely be checking them all out.
(edited because i guess i suck at formatting multiple youtube videos in a thread?)
Mr_OwljoddI've seen a few previous posters talk about FOV, so I guess I will just ask here for my peace of mind:
The actual FOV is locked at a maximum of 90, correct? But is tinkering with your viewmodel FOV permissible in leagues, as it is a readily available console command?
yeah, you can set your viewmodel FOV to whatever you want, or even just turn it off.
thanks :)

while you might not be able to watch demos, there are scout POVs on youtube. for instance, I just typed in "clockwork tf2" and got a bunch of videos.
also, a lot of times you could even pick specific maps that you feel you are lacking on.
example, youtube "scout POV badlands" and search through which ones you want to watch (like higher comp levels and videos with team comms)
what everyone else said is good and relevant too.
like lansky said, that just sounds like poor sleeping habits. if you aren't exerting yourself throughout the day- through exercising, work, etc.- chances are, you probably will be just as awake as you were when you stayed up all night playing video games.
there are a ton of OTC medications and supplements to help you fall and stay asleep. however, you should work on your sleep hygiene before you turn to those.

i by no means have a plethora of competitive experience, but those were the few things i noticed. the greatest advice i can give is to watch a ton of comp matches.
check out https://www.youtube.com/user/Fatmop/videos?view=0
these are matches all casted by the great Sal. he has a ton of videos in which he shoutcasts top team's matches.
capnfapnhe forgot to crouch.
and equip gunboats.
