would you put 20 keys on that?
bearodactylHasssassinGonna pull an all nighter tonight to study for two midterms tommrwnot gonna lie this is a horrible decision
if you feel you don't know the information to the point that you want to literally stay up all night studying you may as well review what you do know and get some rest instead of trying to learn new things
your sleep deprived mind will be far worse at learning new concepts and retaining them afaik sleep is a big part of the process of converting things to memory
that being said im not a doctor and if you've literally not studied whatsoever it might be good to become familiar with the subject instead of being entirely unprepared
although sleeping is great if you're confident about the material, i have regretted every single time i have slept while not being 100% confident. stress is a major inhibitor to long-term knowledge recollection. of course, studying as early as possible (especially by actively solving similar problems) is optimal because you get to sleep & not need to study as vigorously. on top of that, if you have a really good grade buffer, you can lightly study & be fine.
and although some classes heavily weigh test performance, i think students in general bank too much of their grade on it. if homework &/or projects significantly affect your grade, and if tests are relatively infrequent (a few in the semester), put way more effort on that than the tests. you should not be a position where you have to rely on good test performance to receive good marks. it should be obvious: you get hours upon hours per week to tackle homework, whereas you get an hour or two every month to do a test. do you really want to rely on that single hour of test taking to get an A in the class?
putting a lot of effort into your homework pushes way more information to your long-term memory than trying to optimally study for tests while slacking off on homework. what you've learned shouldn't be local to this semester: everything should build upon itself.
inevitably, you'll take a test that's much harder than what you (and probably everyone else) have prepared for (either due to poor communication from the professor, or due to additional challenge purposefully imposed upon the students).
moosepijoshuawni didn't read the whole thread, but do you still go to sleep after wasting the whole day procrastinating?
the easiest way to fix bad work ethic is to not sleep until your work is done. force yourself awake; it's not hard. and no, giving up on this strategy after one all-nighter isn't going to cut it. to reiterate, stay up until you physically give out.
this tactic might not be immediate if you can't help yourself from gaming, but you'll start to get angry because you're not allowed to sleep. so on top of your current trend of poor grades, you'll also be chronically sleep-deprived & moody. if that isn't a wake-up call, then there's probably something seriously psychologically wrong & this thread isn't qualified to help. if you're psychologically healthy, you'll eventually value sleeping over gaming, and you'll prioritize your work so you can get some sleep.
also, if your procrastination is purely brought on by stress, being sleep-deprived can alleviate psychological inhibitors that are preventing you from working in the first place.
and yes, this can get you into the (subconscious) mindset of "only do work when you're tired". but hey, it's certainly better than not doing work at all.
I used to do this and spent about four years sleeping through every class and still not doing any work
I don't think it's a very good plan

i'm speaking from experience; although it was a different game, i had the same issue when i was younger. this helped me tremendously.

Ye11owSimKudos to anyone who can identify this language without googling it.
Delphi, right? Or Object Pascal, same thing. Never learn this language, kids. It's horrible.
close, but i'm pretty sure it's a modern variant of ALGOL due to its use of the mathematical arrow operator & the "if-fi" and "do-od" blocks which are indicative of Dijkstra's guarded commands. i don't believe OO variants of Pascal are written around GCL.
i've never tried coding with a language that supports guarded commands though; i just know it from my principles of programming course.
EDIT: haha, was doing some more research on CAS's for a pedagogical project & i came across GAP which shares the same syntax as this. is it GAP?
first, they deformed the ground
then, they destroyed the city
then, they shook the planet
then, they almost tore the universe apart
and finally, with their god form super saiyan powers... they can destroy concrete buildings, but are threatened by slightly powerful bullets
THE POWER SCALING IS AWFUL
what annoys me more than anything else is when most of their attacks won't blow up the planet if aimed at the ground, and yet are considered threatening enough to hurt people arguably more resilient than the universe itself.
these people could blow up planets back at the start of dragon ball z (arguably even back during dragon ball when roshi blew up the moon). there's no sense of danger when you're always being reminded that everyone's pulling their punches.
only when they unleash their ULTIMATE POWER will all the characters be concerned that the planet could blow up.
