#12 120hz monitors - discussion i guess in Q/A Help
tranchemusicLCD monitors refresh in a different way than CRT monitors,

true, but LCD's still refresh (update the entire screen) using the same "refresh rate" setting. They each have different mechanisms to refresh but both technologies HAVE to refresh.

tranchemusic... and 120Hz isn't actually really a big difference.

60 updates per second...
120 updates per second...

~0 noticeable difference?

I notice a difference from 60hz -> 86hz on my LCD...

#76 Invite Player Rule lifting- made any difference? in TF2 General Discussion

76th post -infinite bashing

Just ignore the guy and stop derailing the thread to gang bang. The highlander section here is impossible to read with this all the time...

=============================================

I'm finally looking to start my first season of ESEA after 2-3 seasons of just glancing at it and oddly enough if there weren't highlander and the people I met in the team I wouldn't even consider playing 6s at all. Our team was fortunate enough to be blessed with 2 IM players very early in UGC (s3) and I believe it was a huge impact to my impression of 6s format.

With the invite limit removed, the flood of invite players are going to inspire teammates that have been sitting on the button to pay for premium, especially those already in UGC 6s. Plus the mingling of highlander players (most who've come from pubs and NO ESEA exp.) and Invites is a great thing. There's a lot to learn from 6s that still apply in highlander.

I just wish our invite player would come play/scrim/mentor a couple stuff...

#5 getting a new computer, specs alright? in Hardware

Gigabyte GeForce GTX 650 OC ~120w peak power sause
Intel Core i5 3470 ~77w MAX sause

Guessing...
4 sticks of ram ~16w MAX
4 1.5tb HDD ~32w sause
other pci shit + mobo ~10w
==============================
255w@12v total system budget.

360w@12v rated @ power supply
288w counting 80+ ranking.

imo. you're cutting it close with the psu, however seasonic decided to calculate the power output of the v12 rails confuses me. You should get a psu with at least 300w@12v while considering the psu's efficiency.

Do you plan on using memory that's ddr3 1600 or greater? Do you plan on Overclocking? if yes, you'll have to get a different motherboard with the h77/z77/z68 chipset.

#33 Help Me Pick the Right Mouse in Hardware

http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:Xyd1TFoRv-oJ:www.overclock.net/t/1316361/razer-deathadder-4g+&cd=1&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=us

rumors of Deathadder 4g (could actually be a beta tester's box). Might want to hold off on a purchase.

With the current one (3.5g) you'll have to deal with high lift-off and really thin mouse feet which will cause the bottom of the mouse to scrape on the pad.

Cached version because an admin apparently removed the post.

Not_MatlockAwesome job.

You should post this on SPUF. Just hope that it doesn't get lost in the sea of crappy threads about trading.

they wouldn't even finish reading Op's post before bitching about its length.

#3 BSOD in Hardware

download CPUZ, check mainboard tab. What chipset do you have?
Nvidia/intel/amd/etc

Look for their most updated drivers.

================

If that doesn't fix it, disable automatic restart on system failure and google around the error code.

Control Panel/System/advanced system settings/Start up and Recovery/
Uncheck "automatic restart"

#26 fps drops/stuttering in Q/A Help
Drewjp_DamnKetoso, maybe it's only a cpu bottlenecking problem.I don't think so. The CPU is just slow.What do you think a CPU bottleneck is?

When other components are being limited by it. If he upgrades his GPU and if there are any FPS gains at all (especially with GPU intensive applications), I can assume there is no bottleneck with CPU<->GPU.

I forget what review site had a nice experiment about bottlenecking. But basically they benched a high-end intel cpu with a configuration of regular/tri/quad-SLI nvidia graphics cards and the benchmark showed a clear bottleneck which was indicated with near zero fps gains between the SLI configurations.

Though I still have a tough time getting my mind around this concept of 'bottleneck'...How can you even diagnose one without having to upgrade/spend money. Most of the times I see it used, it's just a moniker for "slow cpu".
