#10 75 hz vs 60hz in Hardware
Lexhttp://www.monitortests.com/forum/Thread-Custom-Resolution-Utility-CRU

I used this tool to run my old LG monitor at 70Hz@1080p without artifacts. Some monitors will allow more, some less.

AT YOUR OWN RISK, find the highest stable value and see how it works. The difference between 60Hz and 70Hz isn't huge, but it's noticeable.

I used my old Acer monitor at 1680x1050 @ 86hz, was amazing till I got a 144hz monitor. Did notice how much hotter the monitor operated, surprised it STILL lasts. ~2 years.

also refer to your monitor's manual. Many monitors can run 1440x900@75hz.

#13 Lightboost? in Hardware
MedusaThe input lag is not worth it imo.

Try a mouse without a huge click latency.

#15 TF2 Size + SSD = :(? in Hardware

are you using prec to record a demo to a directory?
Change that directory to a symbolic link pointing to a different disk.

you'll be using

In command line...

mklink /d [Where the symbolic link is going to be placed] [where directory actually is]

You could do the same for map files.

#40 Waterproof moue in Hardware

multiple applications of water repellent spray to your current mouse?

Or open up the mouse and cover the entire thing with caulk and carve out just enough for the buttons to click through?

#2 f.lux in TF2 in Q/A Help

I don't use flux anymore but it works when TF2 is in windowed mode, as far as I remember.

#32 Player skill rating added to the game in TF2 General Discussion

I think it's (additionally?) going to be used for quickplay, so newbies and pros can be matched to a server with other players of similar skill.

I'm surprised the requirement isn't openGL 4.

#23 Thoughts on the G502 in Hardware
stabbyg402, actually. Not really a g400 variant.

Errr.. that's what I meant to say.

Weight without cable is effectively identical to G400s - the product it's replacing.

also looks like it's ready for pre-orders.

#22 FPS at 144 but feels like 20? in Q/A Help

I have a HD7850 and times when my game stutters are...

  • Foobar2k playing music
  • Having a Web Browser open
  • Using TF2's fps_max cvar (I use RivaTunerStaticsServer which is included with MSI afterburner. RadeonPro could only limit to 120hz)
  • Couple servers that stutter all the time (TN mge, FP's Phoenix mge)
