#6 pyro self damage in TF2 General Discussion
fsXDbecause when you reflect a rocket/pill it becomes a minicrit and does more damage afaik
one of the 50000 reasons pyro is retarded

that only applied to rollers pre-nerf

and yes, there was a nerf

i'm not sure if taking minicrits was the change or if it's just a flat increased self-damage

but

if people think pyro is annoying / easy / op they should probably nerf something that isn't rrjing since it is amazing / difficult / fairly useless

"we're trying this out for a week to see how it goes, pm an admin if you disagree" - eldritch, saturday

i guess this works too though

reporting people who have been offclassing excessively is a perfectly fine system :/

#15 Help me with my push timing as scout. in TF2 General Discussion
Loronixlol i don't think you needed a real world historical example of why pushing in with more players ups your damage output when you don't have to worry about having a better uber.

i think this is the most amazing style of mentoring i have ever seen

#141 SMISSMASS UPDATE in TF2 General Discussion
r4ptureI will agree with how it disabled ALL of the demomans arsenal. It sucks, but destroying projectiles is the entire point of the gun, from the moment its first version was added to the game. Otherwise, Engies are struggle snuggled by demos 99 times out of 100. If an engie sees stickies being laid on his nest from around a corner or under a cliff (Looking at you, Badwater first point), what exactly does the engie do? He either does his best to shoot at them with his shotgun (usually failing, and not an option when using some of his other weapons) or try to move the gun quickly....which, usually ends in a demo killing him.

-rescue ranger it away
-or put up a wrangler shield, which requires 6 stickies directly under it, and more likely a whole clip, to 1shot
--spam rescue ranger bolts if he keeps detonating stickies individually
--shoot wrangler rocket at the sentry's feet to blow the stickies away if he's close to laying down enough to 1shot (he can only put that many stickies down once before running out of clip)

holding down m1 to hard counter your hard counter, literally just holding down m1 with 0 thought necessary, cannot be justified

besides, the sc was always a gunslinger engineer weapon, i remember dave+ on ts neutering some kritzes on viaduct completely, before it was ever buffed

now imagine it now, the short circuit lasts for 13ish seconds when held down completely and the kritz lasts for 8

imagine playing on the flank in highlander and the only way to kill mini-sentries is by having your scout or engie shooting 17 shotgun shots (100/6) aka almost 3 clips into 1 mini-sentry so it can be rebuilt in 3 seconds

so fucking dumb

#93 SMISSMASS UPDATE in TF2 General Discussion
eeeThe difference is the diamond back isn't a new strategy. It's literally getting a reward for what you were going to do anyway. If scout got a weapon that made him insta kill after getting a meatshot, it wouldn't change scout strategy, it'd just be a scout doing his job and getting a buff for doing what he was already going to do. There's better ways to buff spy, giving him a babymode ambassador isn't one.

l'etranger
#1 at getting stabs (more cloak)
#3 at killing things with a stab (can't 3shot meds)
#3 at killing things without a stab (can't 3shot meds)

The l'etranger is still the best at getting stab kills. Stab kills are the most important part of 6s Spy, a gun is a backup plan. Having a shitty gun doesn't matter that much if you just hit your stabs.

diamondback
#2 at getting stabs (no extra cloak)
#1 at killing things after a stab (1 crit + 1 regular 2shots meds and scouts)
#3 at killing things without a stab (can't 3shot meds)

The Diamondback doesn't have extra cloak, so you should probably only use it on small maps/points or maps with lots of ammo, where you don't need the extra cloak to get behind. It's best for players confident in their stabbing because it's easier to turn single kills into doubles, but if you don't land a stab, you can't 3shot the medic or 2shot after a butterknife, and that really sucks.

revolver
#2 at getting stabs (no extra cloak)
#2 at killing things after a stab (3shots meds at cqc comfortably, knife + 2 bodyshots kills too)
#1 at killing things without a stab (3shots meds at cqc comfortably, knife + 2 bodyshots kills too)

The stock revolver is basically a different style of Diamondback. If you miss a stab, you can still 3shot the medic easily factoring in falloff and regen, and 2shot him after a butterknife. You lose the ability to stab the pocket or whatever and 2shot the Medic though.

ambassador
#2 at getting stabs (no extra cloak)
#2 at killing things after a stab (1 crit + 1 regular 2shots meds and scouts, no setup required)
#2 at killing things without a stab (1 crit + 1 regular 2shots meds and scouts, no setup required)

The Ambassador can 2shot Medics at point blank without a stab. It can also 2shot Scouts at close range without needing a stab and kill Demos and Soldiers in two headshots from long range. However, it's also really hard. 6s Spy is about getting stabs first and foremost, and then dying ASAP so you can switch to your main. So the range of the Ambassador usually doesn't apply.

basically l'etranger is for stabbing, diamondback is for 2ks with people good at stabbing, revolver is for guaranteed med kills for people bad at stabbing, and ambassador is for people good with the ambassador

i wrote this basically to say that the diamondback is on par with the other guns except the l'etranger, which is still leagues ahead
