i disagree with some things, like the pistol being better for gunslinger than wrangler, and it's for pubs, so it doesn't say pomson is banned, and it was before the release of the rescue ranger, which is very good for defending with a level 3, but it's a pretty good rundown of the basics of the class

Highlander is nine players on each team, one of each class, with very lenient banlists. The other format, 6v6, bans the Gunslinger, so it's probably not what you're looking for. If you're new to competitive, you should try for an Iron or Steel team. Read the rules on how to make a LFT (Looking For Team) post, and also try out for them in the "teams looking for players" section.
There are a bunch of high-level Engineers who post POV videos on twitch and youtube. I'll link you all I can think of. Watching scrims and matches can give you a good idea of how Engineer, and a team as a whole, functions in competitive.

I dunno. I can see what you mean, but I think there's a difference between the isolated 1v1s in SOAP, where you still have to navigate splash damage and corners and shit to get close, and getting mowed down by multiple Heavies and Mini-Sentries.
I feel like Spy DM can be practiced easily enough by just running Gunspy, DR, and Spycicle in a pub, but...
It's hard to practice pyro dm when there are heavies and sentries everywhere :<
Although it's also hard to practice Pyro dm when there is lots of lag.
Still, I think the exclusiveness of soap dm raises the level of players you'll face, and the chaos of random spawns means getting destroyed before you can get in flamethrower range isn't so much of an issue, and that's a big problem in large instaspawn pubs.
People say Pyro dm is easy but there are people who are bad at it, like me!

in my experience, if join an empty server at any time that isn't like, the wee hours of the night, and invite a couple of friends, the server will fill up naturally, because all the people who are like "i wanna dm but there are no servers" will see and join

defianceWhat would the community gain for doing another one? With i46 we saw that the NA teams are better than the euro teams, especially when the euro teams aren't trying. I think the money raised by the community would be better put towards getting some NA venue to put TF2 into their event, using the money raised as a prize pot.
Seriously, what huge exposure did the game get? The single greatest thing to get exposure for this game has been John putting it on front page. Not some over glorified esea lan where eventually its just the top two NA teams playing each other with a slightly different rule set in a different continent.

Try playing with the Shortstop? It helps you practice aiming for center mass with the tighter spread, and the weaker individual shots force you to be more accurate and hit more of them. Plus it has a faster fire rate, which adds another level of difficulty. It's like playing jump maps as Soldier: if you can do hard mode, normal mode seems easy in comparison.
