LMAO oops ill fix that
fixed. what loot said above is correct: still LF subs, game time virtually guaranteed lol we just want ppl to round out the season with
looking for subs for scout & soldier. will get gametime.
roster so far has been fun to play with. chillers and vibers only.
+rep jny's a cool guy
THEBILLDOZERI played it a few years back when it was relaticely new. Really cool idea but the freedom was a bit TOO much for me personally. Crystal was my first Pokemon game and I have spent an absurd amount of time in it already. That being said, it's probably more of a problem with me than the game.
I think it's incredible that this idea was executed in a gbc game before something in say, gen 3. My biggest issue with the modern games is how much more streamlined everything is, and more hacks like this coming out would be great.
I have had my finger on the pulse of the rom hacking scene for over 10 years and some of the advancements I've seen are pretty incredible. Excited to see what we get with the huge jumps in gen 4 in the last year or two, as well as the BDSP tom base
Gen 2 was always my favorite era so a lot of my love for this mod is based off my love and nostalgia for that era. the amount of freedom you're given is a bit a double-edged sword which is why I think it feels built for Nuzlocke. Having to pre-plan your next few routes, decide what Pokemon you want to target in the next area, what gym based off your party etc, was really fun to consider. The late game starts to become a fast forward through all your fights and grind exp type of game though, as Dum alluded to. At this point I've figured out a lot of the hidden mechanics and are just legendary collecting before going to the E4. I'd definitely change things up and probably restrict legendaries & overall EXP growth (you can manually cap it dependent on your badges) next run-around but it's been a really enjoyable first play through.
appreciate the recommendations in this thread
really want to share this. ive been playing this a fair bit in my spare time and have been having a blast. amazing overhaul of pokemon crystal. lot of QOL & overall changes but by far the biggest ones:
the game is open world - you choose your starting city & from 30 potential starters. go where you want, in what order you want.
the pokedex is perfect. just trust me.
trainer levels are dynamic and scale to match yours dependent on your total number of badges (but not wild pokemon) which is amazing because normal g/s/c sucks late on because of how weak everything is
you can catch all 251 pokemon from gen 2 (potentially before getting your first badge)
expanded & new lore-friendly areas of the map
player customization
and much more
https://discord.com/invite/tskaCr2 the welcome channel has all the information on where to get the release. highly recommended that you read the documentation because it's got much more and is useful to cross reference against.
it's got a built in nuzlocke mode which is what i've been playing and honestly the game feels purpose built for it. being able to go anywhere adds a whole different dimension to the game. i'll spare the hard details, but my run early on was in a spot that would essentially kill a run in a normal game. one of those "either restart now or later" type of moments. crap pokemon, gym type disad (a pidgey and butterfree against brock), route pokemon disad, couldn't catch anything to save my life. really rough sailing. the only option was to route through to new bark town and hope for the best from there. it ended up working and after many hours i'm in the end-game now.
it's moments like that and others that have added a different level of strategic thinking (moreso with nuzlocke restrictions) that modern pokemon games lack for me. no railed adventure through the region or contrived story you're forced to be part of. instead you're a trainer with 6 party slots and a dream. it's pure pokemon.
let me know what you think!
"last call". chill season in im. demo subs appreciated. xoxo
just start playing 6s if you wanna play 6s. just do it. join a team and also start playing newbie mixes/pugs. if you wanna work on your dm and mechanics then play mge, dm servers, or jump maps. the more time you wait the more time you delay in actually find out if you enjoy it at all. your ability will come in time whats important is that you start learning sooner rather than later. true for tf2 and for life
good luck and have fun.
if u added me on steam or discord to ask about the team can you please remessage me i dont know how to organize my discord so you got lost in the noise
i miss granary so much bros
