In regards to your 3rd problem #109: my toggle console key sometimes stops working or unbinds itself or something when I alt+tab: if that happens to you manually rebind it to a new key in options.

#55 Sin6 Ultiduo Comp Poster for TOTH in TF2 General Discussion

I somewhat agree with the overall sentiment of your post Renhet but at the same time, considering it's being portrayed as a selfless act of charity, I think criticism is warranted. In this context, any reason someone wouldn't buy it is 'valid criticism'. Or, rather, can be valid criticism if future is genuinely interested in helping people. If he's just making things to be happy, as you imply, then there's no reason to criticize, you're right. However, in this case, the fact that you disagree with peoples' choice of what to criticize doesn't invalidate the criticism itself.

EDIT: This post was made after your first post. Now it seems like your point is more about the tone of the criticism, which you're 100% right is rude, and probably unwarranted.

It's also hard to take you seriously when you quite frequently post things offering art and your follow-up is questionable. I invited every steam friend to your group but never received the custom avatar you claimed you'd make for every person. If you can't follow up that claim don't make the statement in the first place. You self-advertise and self-advocate quite a lot on these forums and so I don't think it's unreasonable for people to be a little tired of it, especially when you act so self-centered. You straight-up hijacked Cherry's goodbye thread to start talking about how you want to get into animation. Likewise, if this were truly about raising money for One Step then any criticism would be an opportunity to help kids more. Personally, I think you would be much more successful and happy if you changed your mindset.

All that being said: your art is very original and you're clearly talented and willing to dedicate time to your work. If this is what you love then don't give up, just take care to act maturely and be considerate/thoughtful of your audience, especially when advertising. Good luck man!

#23 Goodbye in Off Topic

Thank you for everything Cherry. I don't think people realize that you still single-handedly verify most of the games, or that when there is a rare issue you are the almost always the one who fixes it. You are undoubtedly the driving force behind saloon and I really hope it can continue to be as great because you've set a very high bar. I have to admit I was worried when I first learned that you were basically the sole admin (at the start) but there was never any question of abuse and you handled criticism and were receptive to others' points of view, which is far more than most people could have done. Thank you also for being so friendly, it was very nice to have a steam friend be so interested in me and what I was doing, especially when I was first living on my own in Ecuador. Hit me up on steam and let's small talk man!

Brooky was out of town or something so I took over for two days: I just didn't add matches that weren't being casted as that was a pretty standard policy last time I talked to Cherry about it. I apologize that I missed that one, I'm pretty out of the scene. Brooks is back now so ESEA should be covered pretty well in the future.

#31 Favorite shoe brands? in Off Topic

for running shoes I love Altra zero-drop shoes (look this up if you run, improved my posture and enjoyment of running immensely), personally use the 3-sum because they're so light.
for casual shoes I like vans or adidas (sambas usually)

#64 What do you look for in a frag video? in Videos

#63 Just because that's what you enjoy doesn't mean it's the same for everyone. I'm a little confused as to why you watch frag videos if there literally isn't a single frag that could impress you anymore. Surely there are other forms of video-editing that emphasize effects more. If there aren't well then maybe that says something about the quality of those effects haha. Seems like the majority of the competitive community enjoys clean frag movies and doesn't appreciate the edits made as much. I get that maybe that's not your thing but 'clean' edits shouldn't make you sad and I don't think you should ask people to get 'creative' or defend 'overediting' necessarily. The fact that you take it as an art form doesn't invalidate the fact that some (most people here) make/watch the videos just for the frags.

On-topic: I really enjoy when the shot is highlighted in a creative way, a good example being following the rocket in third-person such as in the first shot of this movie, one of my favorites. Really the distinguishing factor for me is quality of frags, although good presentation can make the frags seem better than they are. I do appreciate it when the frags are laid out intentionally (ie in a logical order: not too many spire clips in a row, huge airshots are all at climax of song, etc.) and the transitions between them are seamless like at 0:32 or so in the aforementioned movie; it's evidence of effort that only serves to help the frag, whereas color correction and blurs and crazy effects will always be contentious.

T0mCould you provide a download for that hud please?

Might need to scroll up in that thread to the previous download link for the whole hud, not sure if the hotfix is just a few files. That's the thread though.
