#47 The ESEA abuse thread in TF2 General Discussion
SnowyIn UGC you get to use your own servers

while i understand that this has been standard practice for scrims and ugc, i can't help but feel like someone is going to abuse this. i seem to remember a certain team that logged IP addresses on the server they scrimmed on, and then getting DDoSed that same week (coincidentally OBVIOUSLY). i know i don't need to talk to you of all people about that issue so i'm just going to let that lie.

i know UGC releases cfgs in an attempt to create some kind of standard for servers being played on, but i also know there is absolutely no way they can enforce that you use that cfg.

#34 The ESEA abuse thread in TF2 General Discussion

i have a lot of concerns about ugc and cevo.

with said influx of players, who would be deciding what division teams play in? would the divisions mimic the current divisions in esea? if a "sandbagging" team is in a lower division will they get put in a division they won't do as well in? or do we all just start in a lower division and then move up?

personally i like the fact that you can pull an stv from any match that has been played. the lack of consistent casting for divisions other than invite are made up for by this feature. i feel like there are enough statistic services out there that show way more useful data than the current esea model, and could possibly be implemented on match pages for either of those leagues.

renxzenwhy are ex-invite players playing in open again?
Sure they are offclassing but the gamesense it's still there. Also when they are loosing, they just go back to their invite classes and win the game (see powah from budsquad vs all in without allen).
I think it is terrible for new players to meet this kind of frustration, but hey that's just my opinion.

http://play.esea.net/index.php?s=stats&d=match&id=3495592

i'm sure you can go back and find the thread that talks about sandbagging and find all your questions answered there. none of those teams are unbeatable, least of all budsquad. their schedule hasn't been exactly hard.

and if its frustrating that other teams are better than your team, i don't know what to tell you. there are going to be teams that shit on you throughout your time playing 6s no matter what division you're in.

lot of good matches this week. was tempted to make this one the MOTW but instead turned to budsquad's other match. both bud matches are going to be good imo.

Mr_OwlJust becuase they can do it without putting as much time and effort in as the rest of us plebs do doesn't mean they don't care at all about it.

i would even say the fact that they don't put a lot of time and effort into practicing to play against teams in open has hurt them more than anything. the teams that are going to put the time in and can keep a consistent roster are the teams that are going to win, not necessarily the teams with the best players. although that certainly helps HEH

#302 insom in TF2 General Discussion
fieldson topic: insom cheated in a game that wasnt tf2. a punishment should be delivered but his removal from esea, pugs, etc should not be permanent.

he's been banned from whatever services Fog provides for tf2. he's been cut from our team and might have a hard time finding a team in the future (not likely considering I know he's had several offers from both main and invite teams that don't give two shits about a CSGO vac ban). he'll have to pay some money back to for his league fees and know that he let friends he's played with for many seasons down by doing something stupid. you want more punishment for him? kalkin was all for banning him from ESEA, and obviously other people were sympathetic to that idea. there have been plenty of repercussions for his actions. can we please just play some fucking tf2 and shut the fuck up?

its pretty annoying that this thread is continuing, whats done is done and nothing anyone says on here will make the least bit of difference.

#511 ESEA S15 NA Open Happenings/Predictions in TF2 General Discussion
Zamblerthat first one was london's draft on how he thought the teams were pre-season. not much relevance now.

yup

BY: A GUEST ON SEP 25TH, 2013

i posted this to show to someone else on what they thought. the real list got remade later, and then after awhile it was irrelevant with actual evidence of matches. i made a lot of lists like these during the preseason and i still make them to rank teams in the top 16.

ya got me sherman, way to go!

#6 Coalplant best map in Map Discussion
ScorpiouprisingWill be fixed next version.

while you're at it, might be prudent to adjust the amount of time it takes to capture the point. it feels like it takes forever to cap, not sure what the thought process was behind it being so long. i think it promotes a lot of weird passive play from teams holding the point, and makes it really easy to just constantly push the point for teams with better spawns. two rounds in a row my team lost our med and demo in the initial fight right away but we weren't really punished for it because we just came back and fought before the point was capped.

i wouldn't think its a giant issue but its something to ponder. :)

downpouryukiI think the game chat log is more interesting than the medic's damage, to be honest.london aka maaaaad

yeah i was not having a lot of fun during that one. although i was playing medic on badlands for an earlier one and i was having a pretty good time. healed typhus for like 300 from across the map at one point pretty quick, and then while keeping people buffed around batts and spamming arrows got me a med kill. insom is crazy good at rapid firing xbows. i watched him hit a triple airshot on a jumping soldier, pretty intense.

i think with a small tweak it will be fine, the passive reload makes xbow more fun.please dont ban it.
