If it's top 16 overall based on win/loss then it's going to inappropriately skew East anyway, since mid-high teams in the East have far fewer tough opponents and will end up with more wins then the same team would get in Central.
It's almost better to do 8 per conference because otherwise you might legitimately end up with more mid open East teams making playoffs, most of the mid-high and high teams in Central will tend towards having more losses than East teams of the same skill level
To add to that, 2 of what should have been the best mid open teams in East (Chibiboutique and Oi Vey) died
The only real way to fix it would have been to not split the divs in the first place
edit: if you look right now, each division has 8 teams at 0.625 winrate or higher, but 1. all of those 8 teams in Central are playoff level high open teams, not so with East and 2. I believe many of the mid and higher teams in East have already played the bulk of their hardest opponents, Central will continue to have more close games all season

I'm not even going to start on the patently retarded notion that you can just move anywhere you want when your feelings get hurt, nothing suggests those countries will take you anyway.
I know your pain. I live in one of the most liberal areas in Maryland and I constantly heard people who were uninformed and only believed what the media said. I would challenge their beliefs (I'm fairly libertarian, but more conservative than liberal) only to be called a bigot when they were saying very reactionary and authoritarian ideals.
They all wanted to move to Canada if Trump got the nomination. I promptly sent this video
