i've sent the highlighted version to enigma, should be on youtube sometime today.
extremely talented scout, hope you find a good team!
viggiI think its gonna be more of them still staying independent but just with infrastructure boost from google
pretty sure this is what's gonna happen. as badly as google ruined youtube over the years i doubt they'll do that with twitch for the main reason that there's no incentive to move the twitch offices into google. hopefully it stays that way in the future but it's hard to tell. i know they're giving up on the google+ crap (rightfully) since even employees in the company thought it was fucking stupid.
also the guys at twitch are pretty cool, they arent the type to just sell out and leave the project so i doubt that's what this is.
someone has been viewbotting quite a few tf2 streamers lately. fox, sigafoo, muselk, and rays all got hit by that person. weird thing is that they were talking in chat and acted friendly. probably just someone who got bored.
milobrace yourself for pervians
oh god this.
this game is not region locked, and due to the poor cable routing that south america has, peruvian players tend to queue up to us west and east servers (language options don't have an extremely large influence on matchmaking but they should). you'll also occasionally see russians (i don't seem to get matched up with many but i might have without realizing it). prepare to learn some new words.
DougmthsadI believe this goes with each community, I've never seen people calling Windrunner Lyralei and Jakiro THD when I used to play Dota1 :pDougIn the Dota1 names you forgot Nevermind (Sadown Find), Mortred (Phantom Assassin) and Yurnero (Juggernaut)added in nevermore earlier, thanks for reminding me about yunero. never see mortred used that much but i'll add that in anyway.
yeah i suppose it's more of a per community thing.

also forgot about guinsoo, thanks
i love dota, here's a ton of info to get you started:
- prepare to get stomped. dota's learning curve is hard but extremely rewarding once you learn the basics of the game.
- DO NOT PLAY THESE HEROES YET: invoker, meepo, visage, chen, beastmaster, templar assassin, puck, shadow fiend. these are some heroes that require some experience within the game, including micromanagement (wont be an issue if you're a decent starcraft player or something). TA, invoker, puck, and shadow fiend are strong heroes but can be difficult for newer players
- START WITH THESE GUYS: lich, tidehunter, lion. these are all supports and have fairly easy abilities.
- if you really want to start with a carry, try heroes like viper, drow ranger, centaur warrunner, and sven.
- if you're a support, buy a courier and wards. at the start. a courier is extremely important to a successful game, and wards i hopefully dont have to explain. remember to upgrade the courier to a flying courier at 3 minutes game time!
- junglers are NOT NECESSARILY NEEDED AS A PART OF A LINEUP. many heroes are capable of jungling (the heroes pretty much associated with jungling are chen, enchantress, enigma, doom, nature's prophet, and sometimes doom), but dota has very flexible heroes and there is not necessarily a set lane for each hero. the typical pub lanes are 2 top, 1 mid, and 2 bot, while at high levels teams will run trilanes aggressively (at the offlane), and defensively (at the safelane). the safelane is the top lane for the dire (top team) and the bottom lane for the radiant (bottom team), and the offlane is the top lane for the radiant and the bottom one for the dire.
- towers in dota are generally less powerful allowing for SOME VERY SITUATIONAL tower diving but still do damage. they also have more HP and tower aggro works differently than in LoL. if you're being attacked by a tower with a bunch of creeps also attacking the tower, a-click one of the creeps to remove aggro, doesnt even matter if the creep is low.
- you can deny almost anything! if creeps are low, you can deny them and thus deny some xp and gold to your enemy, you can deny towers if they are low enough, you can deny the aegis of the immortal (more on this later), and you can even deny enemy heroes under certain conditions!
- dota has a WAY more evolving metagame than league. instead of patching things that the developer doesnt want to see, our developer (icefrog) balances the game so all heroes are viable and lets the metagame work itself out, and only nerfs things that are too strong. the result is really exciting matches both casually and competitively, and the thing that makes dota a great spectator esport. the patch we are on right now (6.81) is considered the most balanced patch by many players.
- heroes' roles can change dramatically. recently, alchemist, played as a hard carry by many teams, has been played as a support while other heroes have taken the hard carry role. he has fallen off for a few reasons but this is just one of the ways heroes' roles can change.
- in place of baron nashor, we have roshan, a gigantic dragon that grows more powerful as the game progresses. on death, he drops the aegis of the immortal, which grants an extra life to whoever picks it up (or like i said before, it can also be denied). on roshan's third death he drops cheese, which heals the user for 2500 hp.
- you're from league so you'll know about last hitting, but it's gonna be much harder in dota. don't autoattack the wave, and practice it. don't steal farm from your carry if you're a support, etc etc.
- don't start with boots. a good starting build for most heroes is 3 iron branches (stats), tangos and salve (hp regen) and clarity (mana regen). stout shield is also good if you're a melee hero and you're expecting to take a lot of harassment from the enemy gamers.
- please be nice. our community has kind of a thing for being bad mannered (trying to avoid the word toxic here since i fucking hate that word) and being nice and positive wherever possible never hurts.
- the game has built-in guides (book in the top left corner) that you can use to learn new heroes.
- blink dagger is about to become your best friend on many heroes. it was recently given a huge buff and it is WAY stronger than its league counterpart "flash". it only has a 12 second cooldown (but if you take damage it goes on a 3 second cooldown), travels you 1200 range (reduced to 900 if you click further than 1200) and costs no mana. great for mobility and initiation!
and most importantly of all... HAVE FUN! you're embarking on a journey of learning and it will definitely pay off in the end if you have fun and try to play with an open mind. you will suck at the start (everyone does) but it will get better, trust me.
if i missed anything else i'll try to edit it in, writing this and doing other stuff at the time.
this is a lot of writing, i know, but i hope you can take some stuff away from it! <3
edit: and here is some terminology to help you out:
rat: avoiding fights and pushing objectives. nature's prophet is infamous for playing rat dota because he can tp anywhere globally and push towers with treants and the necrobook item.
cc: crowd control, heroes with good teamfight
ss: missing
and here are dota 1 names of heroes, which people use sometimes because either they are faster, they are used to it from dota 1, or they want to sound like they played dota 1:
gondar: bounty hunter
bara: spirit breaker
furion: nature's prophet
lyralei: windranger (windrunner)
rylai: crystal maiden
rexxar: beastmaster
lanaya: templar assassin
naix (n'aix): lifestealer
strygwyr: bloodseeker
lucifer: doom (doom bringer)
traxex: drow ranger
twin-headed dragon (THD): jakiro
rhasta: shadow shaman
shadow priest: dazzle
syllabear: lone druid
nevermore: shadow fiend
yunero: juggernaut
mortred: phantom assassin
and items:
lothars: shadow blade
guinsoo: scythe of vyse (named for a previous developer of dota; also known as "sheepstick" from heroes of newerth)
if you want to get in touch with me with me on steam (pretty sure i have you added) i can make sure these get plugged on our casts whenever they happen. would love to help organize but i'm pretty busy with other things sorry. D:
sorry about the late start, we were having some slight stv issues. thanks for tuning in, and as usual feedback on the cast/stream is welcome!
drakSetsul#32In adolescents. Link me to an adult study.
"Caffeine is bad for you"
You know that nicotine is a neurotoxin?
Nobody should take advise from someone who doesn't think an addictive toxin is dangerous.
and people somehow still think I'm suggesting smoking cigarettes.
However, I am suggesting that, for a developed brain, the cognitive and stimulant benefits of nicotine outweigh it's slight addictive potential. That's my opinion.
There will be cravings, but not the withdrawals associated with smoking because: smoking activates the weak MAOI in tobacco, thus acting as a double hammer on your dopaminergic system = perfect for addiction. That's fact.
Everyone, just decide for yourself. I do what works for me, and I assure you I'm taking precautions not to get addicticancered, and I wouldn't advise it if I thought it unsafe.
this study doesnt say that its a neurotoxin ONLY in adolescents, it just says that it is a strong neurotoxin in adolescents. by definition a neurotoxin can be any chemical that negatively affects your CNS so that includes nicotine.
why is this even being debated, if you feel the need to turn to nicotine to play a video game you need to re-examine priorities.
edit: cleared up definition, ironically im tired as fuck sorry lol
vileBRILLIANT PHISHING SCAM. YOU GUYS ARE ALL FUCKED. WHOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

i think excel runs in a protected mode when you first open it so macros are not executed until you disable that, so it wouldnt matter what they were

i just realised that the statues are the alliances game 5 lineup
they did that last year too with ig's winning lineup
also qualifiers are on
edit: so the first few matches were stomps and ehug forfeited, good start
BEARTATOThe response from the community just shows how vile it has become. You pride yourselfs on your openness and acceptance of new players but reading threads like these shows your true selves. I came in here suggesting good options for his problem that he had while the majority of you have been crude and mean. This place is no better than what you came out of. Go back to 4chan you /b/tards.
