People in this thread are simultaneously praising the capitalistic approach of making proposals for coverage and then are unwilling to accept the consequences of TFTV losing the contract to VTV now that Multiplay has made their decision. Given that this was always a possibility once the two organizations formally bid against each other, Arx is probably right that what would have been best overall is some amount of cooperation from the get go. Even if it shouldn't have been aired out in public, I think that is all Arx is really trying to point out here. All he wants everyone to realize is that they aren't the bad guys, and he is right - neither side is really at fault. We should accept the outcome and watch the event just the same.
As a team we havent had issues between players since like, boulder couldnt get along with thrickstr in open. Nothing against slin on a personal or skill level but things were just obviously not meshing and it was pretty clear that no one would want to play a season like that.
eGO victory. not that i know anything about IM in the first place tho
i love these dudes. I like to think this team has the chance to go far together.
I havent been keeping up with this much but has anything been said about the discrepancies between what lpkane originally released about this and then what eventually came out as the truth? was he lying, trying to cover it up or just misinformed?
harbleuwhat if you end up making lan? paying for a plane ticket from Australia?!
never stopped powah
steampipe. install it now so u dont have to deal with the headache of doing it at the same time as everyone else
when a frag video would come out 3/4 of the kills were random crits.
maps were fine. gpit isnt the best and luck is pretty bullshit but since the map pool was decent and we have no idea what maps would be up for voting in, i think we keep the current pool.
cbear will always be the greatest caster NA tf2 has seen.
yay maybe i wont have to validate soon
the point isnt being competitive for first place. a 12 team invite will undoubtedly make the middle of the pack more interesting and competitive. An invite division with only classic mixup and bp/HRG would be more "competitive" in the sense that you are talking about, but it would be a shitty division anyways.
as for community donations, do you think there were community donation drives for sending all of the 8 CS:GO teams to lan? I dont follow CS but, likely not. At this point it seems like community donations are a given for sending teams to lan but its actually a fairly new thing within this community.
well considering how killing has spoken on a main division i will give my thoughts on a 12 team invite division with a 6 team lan.
Facts:
-They are adding $3000+ to the prize pool.
-Current last place lan team earns $1200.
Speculations:
-Assume 5th and 6th place teams will earn less than 4th place, and assume that 4th place winnings will not be diminished.
-Given this, the $3000+ could easily cover the current prize pool plus the suspected winnings of ~$1000 for 5th and 6th place and still give a small bump to the top four teams winnings.
Can we support and sustain a 12 team invite division? I'm not sure myself. Will the extra $3000+ support a 6 team lan if that is in fact the "big change" that has been alluded to? Absolutely. Like it or not the $3000+ fits in very nicely with the current prize pool breakdown and could easily support larger lan attendance rather than simply giving the top 4 teams a bit more buffer for "breaking even".
rofl dougy.
sold ur unusual hats in tf2 for dota stuff and now u want tf2 hats! also if you convince hibachi to wear a hat i will be appalled...
