Gotta agree with bloodsire here. There's not much you can do to prevent people from dropping or losing interest in a game that, most likely, will forever remain a hobby esport. Players in high-ranking teams shouldn't be jumping ship right at the end of a season, especially when LAN prospects are still possible, but there's no consequence for doing so.
What we can do, at least, is build a wonderful and far more stable community for all types of competitive play. Get new players interested, keep veteran players interested, generate more exposure for current leagues and show sponsors/Valve that many people are truly dedicated to this game. Doing so will expand and strengthen future league, and may encourage more dedication in Invite and other top divisions.
Thursday's game has been added to the weekly schedule, Monday's will be added for next week! Should be sweet.
Super stoked!
A sorely-needed guide that you've written nicely and clearly. Thanks a bunch for this!
Updated the UGC games for Monday and Tuesday; thanks for the heads-up!
Added Blunderful vs Gorgeous Gamers! Will also put out tweet reminders on Monday.
At the start of the round, the game is a race to take a good position on the mid point, also known as the rollout. The general approach to accomplish this is for the medic to buff the demo and one soldier while the other soldier self-damages to <80hp to run with the equalizer.
Should be changed to escape plan so that newer players reading this don't mix this up.
That aside, you rock. Looking forward to part 2!
Listen to this man, he is a genius.
Put onto the magic that is Twitter. Play with these guys if you haven't already; super patient and super helpful for new players.
I've changed the Schedule and included 2 different versions for you guys to try out:
1) SUNDAY Leviathan Gaming vs Spacewhales (link)
2) MONDAY Leviathan Gaming vs Classic Mixup (button)
Let me know which you prefer or if you have other ideas. Thanks for all the suggestions and feedback too. :)
Good news, got some extra coding for making nicer buttons! I'll start implementing spoiler codes for this Sunday's schedules and links to casts.
I added a spoiler tag in the Weekly Match Schedule for Sunday's LG vs Spacewhales game to test it out. I didn't want to use a ugly button that doesn't match with the tables, so it appears as a link instead - only downside is that your cursor doesn't change when you hover over it, so it's not terribly obvious that you're supposed to click on it. Thoughts, suggestions?
