#6 freddHUD - a mkHUD fork in Customization

I don't ever recall giving you permission to release a "mkhud fork".

Not only that, but this is just a hud modification. You didn't edit any of the class loadout panels, backpack panel, none of that. You just put the old background I used to use, put boxes around the health and ammo, and did a horrid job with centering the text on the menu. You could have spent maybe 2 minutes to actually align the text and also extend the grey panel ~15 pixels longer. You also left your transparent viewmodel in.

Please don't make a whole thread for this. Like what JarKing said, it's just a modification. If you edit the menus and maybe not reuse all of my VTF files, and make it seem like a completely different hud than my hud, then maybe it wouldn't be as bad.

#99 mkHUD in Customization

small update

Changelog- fixed winpanel for 4:3 and 16:10 res
- fixed spectator hud for 4:3 and 16:10 res
- made control point icons compatible with sv_pure 1 servers

------------------------------------

EricSeveral of your winpanel elements aren't using positional modifiers and therefore aren't compatible with different aspect ratios.

fixed! thanks

freddiaNHey,
I have another question:
Is there a way to put the KotH timers on the scoreboard? because when you die you cant really read the timers because of the bar (which I dont want to remove)
I will just lower the KotH Timers as a Workaround until there is an option to put them on the Scoreboard.

Thanks in advance :)

there isn't a way as far as i know. i'm pretty sure i set the koth timers' zpos to be higher so it overlaps the dark blue bar though. i haven't had any problems with it since

LeyawynnHey, maybe add in an optional dark theme? I love the hud, but I don't really like the white colours and such. Thanks!

uh i might end up doing that but i don't plan on it for a while

freddiaNsnip

i removed this in the newest version to reduce the filesize. if you really want this though you can just go back to the older commits in github

#132 Overwatch HUD in Customization

hi i just pushed a really small update to the hud

Changelog- made "eventcolor" (med drop, pyro extinguish display etc) orange instead of the original purple
- edited payload and control point icons to be able to be used in valve servers, so you don't have to suffer the ugly stretched payload icons anymore :)

i don't know of any other bugs with the hud right now, other than the fact i still have to finish up the mvm stuff (which will be happening soon enough)

----------------------------------------

Gunboat_DiplomatDon't know anything about HUD creation, but is it possible to have multiple loadouts of a user's choice show up as their own "Heroes" on the class selection screen? Makes life a lot more convenient, and adds a lot more flavour to the HUD.

i have no idea what you mean. if you mean where it shows your other class loadouts while showing the one you have currently selected then that's not possible.

puoi1Any updates on the health bar?

i accidentally deleted some of the files that were related to the health bar when i was moving my custom folder and merging some of it with the github repository. i'm going to talk to intellectual / haze eventually and see if he still has the original files.

#196 The Keyboard Thread (last updated Sep. 24, 2013) in Hardware

Yeah I would go for that keyboard. There are no red flags there, other than the fact that it's not using Gaterons or Cherry MX switches - but you can easily swap them out if the Outemu switches bother you. The swappable switches and backlights are a nice bonus as well.

Edit:

I would also consider the Magicforce as well. It's a 60 key layout with arrow keys and insert/delete/pageup/pagedown without messing with the bottom row. It's also very cheap all the time. I believe the one I linked below has Kailh Blacks.

Brimstonehttps://www.massdrop.com/buy/kc64-mechanical-keyboard

does anybody know anything extra about this keyboard that isn't on the webpage? I'm sorely tempted given the price and listed specs

there's mention of it apparently having non standard stagger, but i'm not sure if that should bother me or not

The left shift is smaller than the original left shift. It's 2u compared to 2.25u. Right shift is 1u as well. The bottom right area seems kind of strange. I would definitely not be able to get used to that. It would also make customizing keys a pain, because you'll need to get a 2u key for row 3, which is probably not common in DCS. The two shifts would definitely break the deal for me.

I think the non-standard stagger will put you off for a minute or so, but then your hands will probably adjust to it very fast. On laptop keyboards and such, I find myself messing up keys for only 5 minutes or so and then getting used to how they are staggered.

If those are all dealbreakers you can probably just get a KBP v60 off of mechanicalkeyboards.com. I have a KBP v60 as well, and I would recommend it. I had a Quickfire TK beforehand, and I got used to the layout pretty fast. Only took me about a week, but it's 40 dollars more than the KC64.

For 60 USD this isn't too bad. However every once in a while Massdrop has the v60, and it's only about 15 dollars more than the KC64. I would definitely go for that instead of this.

#179 What are your weird in game habits/behaviour? in TF2 General Discussion

when i get stuck on a jump map i turn on my viewmodels/turn off my viewmodels and for some reason it makes me beat the stage i was stuck on

i swap stock RL with the original every other life

sometimes i disable the scroll wheel lock on my mouse (g502) and just let it spin through my weapons over and over during pregame

i also spam crouch when i'm walking

#16 Why has there been no new huds lately? in Customization
_KermitEven the wips are just yahud clones tbh. People tend to focus on menus and shit more these days than the actual in-game UI.

There is a lot of things you can do with TF2's menus. You can only do so much with the in-game UI.

#5066 Show your HUD modifications! in Customization
SnerkThis thread has turned into a "material design" hud showcase. Anyone trying to make something new gets shit...

Do you even know what material design is supposed to be like? I think you're getting confused between "minimalist design" and "material design". They are different, but have their similarities.

#5043 - 11 frags. NOT material design.

#5047 - 6 frags. NOT material design.

#5055 - 61 frags. I'm not exactly sure what Devamar is going for here in terms of "material" or whatever you think. But I think the main reason why this got so many frags is because the animation and menu is amazingly well-made. Hell, every piece of work Dev has done & posted here gets tons of frags, most likely because he does things a lot of HUD makers haven't done.

#5057 - 22 frags. NOT material design.

#5063 - 13 frags. NOT material design. Looks like a modified kbnhud by the font of the health targetid.

I think post #5064 didn't do that well because the font is not something everyone will like. People these days seem to like more minimalist fonts and images. Having lines on your screen with angles and a hard to read font is probably not that attractive to the average user. Whereas a font like Roboto or Helvetica is used quite often because of how easy to read it is, and everyone seems to like it because of that.

#119 Overwatch HUD in Customization
MrRedFox-Add more menu backgrounds. Ex.:
Forest: cp_gorge, cp_mountainlab
Jungle: pl_borneo
Ice/Snow: cp_coldfront, pl_snowycoast
City: pd_watergate, koth_king
Badlands: pl_upward, pl_goldrush

-The classes portraits on the loadout menu would look better with other cosmetics (i know you used the pictures on the Tipped Lid TF2 wiki page). Ex.:
Scout: Brotherhood of Arms / Front Runner
Soldier: Team Captain / Killer's Kabuto
Pyro: Napper's Respite / Brigade Helm
Demoman: Scotch Bonnet / Glengarry Bonnet
Heavy: Officer's Ushanka / Tough Guy's Toque
Engineer: Texas Ten Gallon / Hot Rod
Medic: Surgeon's Stahlhelm / Vintage Tyrolean
Sniper: Anger / Swagman's Swatter
Spy: Fancy Fedora / Charmer's Chapeau‎

If there's a way to do it by myself, please reply.

No.
