Hey TFTV,
I decided a while ago that I wanted to start making some in-depth videos about 6s, and I've started to do so. I think it's something that's been lacking in the community for a while since tipz with ipz and other series like it stopped being made. This first one is about seagull's roamer playstyle, but I plan to do more general 6s stuff as well as these sort of player analysis ones.
I'm pretty new to video editing and all of this stuff so its always a work in progress (if anyone knows how to make my mic not sound like aids pls tell me). That being said, I'd appreciate feedback (format, editing, analysis) so I can make these better, you can comment here or add me on steam if you think you can be of use, and if anyone wants to work with me on these somehow that'd be cool. It's also kinda tricky to make this sort of stuff without many pov demos available so if there are top players that want to see more of this, just upload your demos please!
'Why bother?' 'dead game' - I wanted to do this because I think there are a lot of players that are still keen for tf2 and could benefit from these kinds of videos, and personally, I've been looking for more creative outlets and ways to practise articulating my thoughts, and this is one of the things I decided on. I'm working full time so idk how often I'll be able to make these, but I have a few weeks off atm so I should be able to get another 1 or 2 done soon.
Shoutouts to the people who listened to me bouncing ideas off them and those that helped me get resources I needed (or anyone who was of some use really): Seagull, Zesty, Verse, Drackk, Byte, Beater, Kermit, hpqoeu, Maks, shade, MeloIZCorE, my flatmate Bark, comp.tf
I also stream sometimes so come pester me to do demo reviews instead of playing the game badly: twitch.tv/nuze_

smziIn those logs not a single player has an acceptable amount of deaths holy cow
I think this explains a lot. The amount of things you can find out about a game from the logs is great.
His damage taken/deaths shows he took an average of like 120 damage a life before dying. Less than 300 heals received in total means an average of less than 5 hitpoints healed a life. So his average life was doing 85 damage in rocket jumps, being healed for 5hp, and dying to 120 points of damage. Over the 30 minutes he got 12 frags, a quarter of which were market gardener frags.
That's impressive.
goldfishIm not good but I use 60 hz
what a modest fragger
you can call him jomjom

playing 60 hz as a soldier isn't hard? Boy you must not play much soldier because going from 60hz to 144hz increased my airshot accuracy and directs generally by twice as much. Hitting Doubles were almost impossible before changing from 60hz.
You're misunderstanding what I said. What I'm saying is that it is more difficult to play scout at a high level with 60hz than it is on soldier or demo. The difference that refresh rate makes on scout (hitscan in general) makes it significantly easier to hit the kind of shots that prem/invite scouts hit consistently. It's not as hard to get to a prem/invite level on 60hz as soldier or demo because the type of aiming you do for projectile weapons isn't as affected by input lag as hitscan weapons are.
Players like shadowburn and numlocked have shown that soldier and demo can be played at a world class level with 60hz (because they are exceptionally talented), but not a single player has been able to play scout at that level because playing 60hz scout vs 144hz prem/invite opponents is much more difficult than playing 60hz soldier vs 144hz prem/invite opponents.
django was also very good while playing on 60hz, and I get hes not sdb or numlocked but playing at a high level on 60hz as scout is much harder than doing so on soldier demo or med.
