mustardoverlordam I the only one who thinks the remake looks like absolute dogshit
there is a very short list of improvements the remakes did
-revamped underground
-kept the new exp system
-kept the new learnsets
-HMs no longer required to be learned
-pretty good battle animations
everything else about the games is so lazy. there are multiple game breaking bugs discovered on day 1, route encounters and trainer pokemon + movesets are basically the same, same weird map flow that diamond and pearl had instead of the gyms being in order like in platinum. level curve isn't accounting for the new exp system imo. somehow fire types still hella limited - only options are chimchar, houndoom, and ponyta. i haven't passed valor lakefront yet so this is all that i have to say for now.

So far I have 8/9 challengers stage, 5/9 legends stage.
For playoffs I have:
Navi - Navi - Navi
Gambit
G2 - G2
VP
Most of these matches are honestly a coinflip. If G2 wins their quarterfinal, I don't see them losing their semi. I could absolutely see Gambit winning the entire thing though.

Why did you take a break from TF2?

reached a point in tf2 that improving as a player meant I had to do more than just show up to scrims and have fun, and that point coincided with starting college and looking forward to doing things on the weekends and at nights with my friends. it just wasn't worth it to me to use up my weekend to play tf2 when i wouldn't have been able to get good enough to improve and get on better teams than the last season.
