I want to be more polite and understanding of other people's feelings. I will always be a villain at heart but I don't need to come across as a complete jackass all the time.

I'd go with the SSD if you can't have both.

Electronics love the cold. It's heat you need to worry about! Screen might display things really slowly until it warms up, everything else will run better. You'll want to put them outside more often.

obe_pine_beetleIt doesn't make a difference. Starcraft 2 hear of the swarm... You are kerrigan the most badass chick out there.. Male dominated game. Again a lot of games give you the option to play both, the notion that girls aren't represented is just wrong.
Now you're just going in the wrong direction.

Originally, you said

"My arguement is that the vast majority of the people playing these types of games are males. If the vast majority of the people interested in playing it are guys, they need to make it for guys. It's a money decision not a gender decision."

Implying that it's economically more sound to make a game "for guys" since the vast majority of people who play that game are guys. Now you're saying SC2 has a female character and it's sold exceptionally despite it being a male dominated game... You're completely contradicted yourself.

It's not a contradiction. The target market is males. There are games that have female protagonists and those games are still played by mostly guys. It shouldn't be a surprise that there are more guy leads than girl leads because it's guys playing the game. The statement that there are no games with girl leads is just completely false. There are plenty of games that have them or at least have the option to play as a girl.

obe_pine_beetleIf you're not going to respond who is really being stubborn?
I'm not stubborn; I'm exasperated. I literally just directly contradicted your argument and now you're changing it, and asking me to do something impossible.

Look, this was your original argument: "Girls are outnumbered by guys in most consol/pc games by at least 100-1."

Not: "Girls are outnumbered by guys in the megaman game market by at least 100-1."

That wasn't your argument because it's stupid and niche and doesn't make sense.

I'm not going to fetch you a nonexistent study on the demographic of people who play Mega Man. Fact is, you pulled a number (at least 100-1) out of your ass, and I gave an actual statistic. Now you're backpedaling and asking me to do something impossible. I'm not going to continue arguing under those circumstances.

You actually just ignored my argument completely and nitpicked a statistic. Sure I made that up but it's not far fetched and you know it isn't. My arguement is that the vast majority of the people playing these types of games are males. If the vast majority of the people interested in playing it are guys, they need to make it for guys. It's a money decision not a gender decision.

obe_pine_beetleobe_pine_beetleGames are gender specific. If you want to talk about "just non-existant" Girls are outnumbered by guys in most consol/pc games by at least 100-1.
Ugh... this is just awful to read. Absolutely terrible to read. Please do some research. Don't perpetuate ignorance.

Show me a study on the amount of girls who play megaman vs the amount of guys.

Wowza, you're stubborn. I'm not going to respond to your posts anymore.

obe_pine_beetleI don't see the problem with a guy lead either. Since it's mostly guys who play the game anyways. It is a predominantly a male funded industry, and if the fanbase wants it to be a guy... It really shouldn't be a problem.
You don't see a problem with a guy lead because you're a male talking about an industry dominated by males. It's pretty easy to say something like that when you're in the vocal majority.
pine_beetleIt's not like guys are mad that there are more female cosmetic stores and clothing stores. Where's Victoria's secret for men?
... This is nowhere close to an acceptable analogy. The female market for video games is under-represented. The male market for Victoria's Secret is... just nonexistent. Men don't want male representation in Victoria's Secret because they don't care about Victoria's Secret, or shop at Victoria's Secret. Women want more representation in games because it's not gender specific, like Victoria's Secret. It's just predominantly oriented towards males, and nothing is stopping us from being able to change that. Victoria's Secret isn't predominantly oriented towards females; it is specifically for females, or those who identify as females.

Ok you're just wrong a lot of games give you the option to play as male or female. Diablo 3, skyrim are among the most popular games of all time and they both give you the option.

Games are gender specific. If you want to talk about "just non-existant" Girls are outnumbered by guys in most consol/pc games by at least 100-1. Who do you think the target market is here? Out of this entire community there are probably only a dozen or so females. It's not because females are being chauvinistically ignored it's because the game just flat out isn't interesting for them at all in any way. In the same way that guys have no interest in female hobbies. There are of course exceptions to this but when you are putting something on the market to make money you need to identify who you are going after and target them specifically.
