venger47So I've been playing on chicago servers, but recently (about a few days ago) I've started getting around 120 ping on those servers. How is that even possible? I've always had around 30-40 ping on those.
Servers in virginia are fine, i live on the east coast and i get better ping on west coast servers than chicago ones.
What the hell is going on.
ISP changed something, most likely. ask them if they changed anything. a lot of people have reported the same problem

ProtoNormally I pull around 15-30 ping on the chicago servers listed on the "Servers" page. But the past few days my ping has been ~120 on those. But I still pull ~50 on dallas and ~70 on west coast. So Why am I all of a sudden getting higher ping on chicago which is closest to me?
I tried playing on a valve server in virginia and got 35 ping. And I played chicago pub server and got 20 ping.
I have no idea what's going on but it's only the chicago tftv servers
Your ISP may have changed routing.
do you have set dates for when you'll be where?

tscI am acutely aware of the problems that come as part of having captain restrictions - it's a delicate balancing act between trying to ensure the best games and making the site as accessible as possible.
We have tried to ease the requirements for captaining by various methods, like giving added weight to captains shown to be more successful and showing stats on the draft page to assist captains, but there just hasn't been any substitute yet for ensuring a captain knows the community by requiring them to play a few games before they captain.
However, we are working towards a new system that will automatically draft games when enough players are available as an alternative to the current system requiring captains. I hope to have something to announce about that soon.

that was really good. nice mixing, although the strings might be a tad loud on song #2. can't hear the vocals.
although, other than the instrumental changes, the vocals were pretty much the same the whole way. i like and understand the screaming, however, too much can ruin emotion. although i really did like the EP in general.

QuazzyI recently received a Lenovo thinkpad laptop for tf2 (I know desktops are better)
When I started playing however, the Lenovo is completely silent, and it overheats incredibly quick.
I tried installing a fan control program, but it tells me I have no fans to work with.
It doesn't make a whole lot of sense for a realitbily new latop not to have any fans at all. Is there some driver I need to install?
Spec are Lenovo 20192
intel i7 quad core 3639 cpu @ 2.40
NVidia GeForce 640 something.

Lenovo is horrible with heat venting, i actually have a burn on my leg from a laptop that overheated within 20 minutes of powering on.
