THEBILLDOZERI'm gonna buy this site and unban pankeyman
i thought it smelled less rapey in here lately
bl4nk baits.
EroticFishCakeI don't think valve actually cares about the comp scene at this point.
could be worse. blizzard's actively killing it's own game's scene. developer support isn't always all it's cracked up to be. at least we CAN run tournaments with no restrictions. valve is one of the only big developers left that permit that.
DavidTheWinThey were invited to GGG months ago and can't manage to pull together even the most aids mix like all the euros. Didn't even bother waking up, apart from b4nny (west coast, arguably fucked most by the timing) and duwatna (who was working). They said they would attend but only told us on the day that they wouldn't be attending. This is after the tournament was rearranged specifically for them to help with the timezone issue and to help our their i55 fundraiser. This breaks the group stages and means the stream ends the day on danger dogs vs lego after an afternoon of hype with reason, nerdrage and full tilt going ham. Disrespectful.
the old thread was locked so i'm starting a new one. happy necro day!
i've been wishing for something to play that isnt aids for over two years
Let's try to not to make speculation about what they will or won't do until they announce their intentions
i started OS again add me pinkllamaXD
faceit still does those to my knowledge, but no $. i think the difficulty is i don't know if they ever crowdfund for online stuff, and generally participation dies out after a few tries and the company leaves.
TwistedSin_eSportsAlso, side thought, I used to run some tournament organizing companies (even built a few communities around them). If you guys really want this to survive and be an amazing place and you're willing to crowd fund, should check into finding companies that will host tournaments regularly.
i gotchu fam
i'm sure a lot of people have been upset by things that we've all been saying over the past week, including my own opinions. the reason the fans are getting so frustrated over this is that we are the community that support the teams both financially and publicly. i understand that fans may not seem that important, but it's fans that run this community. we work hard for this game because we love it and our interest is in seeing the highest level of play which is a very rare occurrence. a lot of us have made many personal sacrifices as i'm well aware many if not most of the players have as well.
this year we've been given a shot, an opportunity to show multiplay that we're worth their investment and can withstand the test of time. i'm encouraged that the community teams are still willing to show up and play the game, but i don't think anyone can fault us for being disappointed and concerned that this marks a downturn in the level of international competition. i will do everything within my own power in the future, but insomnia was and always will be the premiere team fortress 2 event.
WARHURYEAHhaha boy its a good job we never constantly nagged multiplay over announcing a tf2 tournament for i61 so all our top teams know if they needed to attend or not
it's odd that the tweets sent by the team captain encouraging this have magically disappeared
edit: the tweets telling multiplay to announce soon so that they could come and then decide not to come are still there, my bad i couldn't find them. sry baniel.
Preach, mike. preach.
