zbryan and I are both from Lincoln. I would have considered this if I hadn't already made plans. Do you know what kind of tournaments they do?
Some good ideas so far. I would definitely make it a scheduled event thing and try to do some PR on it beforehand. I was thinking a lot of the actual gameplay could be on the teamfortress.tv pub server. Scrims towards the end might be a good idea. Could have a caster stop by and chill cast it and read "challenges" from donators to the players.
Still looking for more ideas content wise. I have only approached a couple other streamers about this so I'm not sure who all would be interested.
Would doing a map of MvM be a good way to create some sort of challenges?
Surfing?
Interested in the highest donator gets a mentor session idea but that would require finding mentors willing to follow through.
How best could we use tf2 items?
Thanks for the ideas!
We are going to have a meeting on Tuesday, Feb 5th at 7pm cst to discuss a rough schedule and gather more ideas. Anyone interested in helping out feel free to attend. TFTV Mumble: 173.208.239.18, 64738
So I've had this idea about doing some sort of charity stream for awhile now. Finally decided to make this thread to see how much interest there is and if you guys could help me come up with an idea of how to improve and implement my idea.
Basically I thought we could do something over the course of a day or like 6 hours or so involving multiple streamers. The charity donations would be taken in the form of pledges for tf2 related stuffs. Viewers would pledge to donate like 5cents per truktruk Heavy Boop or 10cents per seanbud's DH airshot or something like that. I'm not sure how well this system would work and I think it could be just part of the event. We could also auction off tf2 items throughout the stream. I'm not sure what other sort of stuff we could do but post ideas here!
I was also wondering how best to run something like this. Twitch John said we would be able to share stream key for teamfortress.tv channel and each streamer would get an hour or something. The other option is to just have each streamer do it on their own channel simultaneously but this may not work as well as just using 1 channel.
Also looking for ideas as far as which charity to support.
But yeah looking for some feedback on how to improve upon this idea and also if you are a streamer if you would be interested in participating.
bump. Thanks to bl4nk, boulder, bloodsire, zbryan, and fragile for helping out.

dont change your sensitivity ever. find one you think feels good for rocket jumping/movement and stick with it. unless your ping is above 100 dont give it too much credit. when you're playing shitty were you short on sleep or did you have a long day or something? try a better diet and maybe some caffeine. gl
or Sal.

fraacAnother point, tf.tv really need to lose the VTV idea of having a separate cameraman. It's shit. No one wants casters talking about action we can't see. Just have one or two experts calmly revealing the strategies unfolding. Preferably one so they don't succumb to the urge to 'present'. Lange streaming LG v mix^ on Process last season was another great and sadly rare example of a caster actually adding something. Mostly just shut the fuck up, let the action tell the story, and explain the interesting bits.
I guarantee you'll do better if you focus on quality information rather than appearing slick.
casters cast in 3rd person a lot and some of the casters cant stream in the quality the cameraman do. also the production that happens aside from just speccing in the server is a lot of shit to handle while also trying to cast. Also good casters like cbear/djc/sal add a lot to the action in my opinion and make it much more exciting.
it sounds like all you want is an stv. lol.
