Quality does not necessarly result in popularity and popularity is not an indicator of quality.

Also if you don't have any backups sooner or later you will get fucked. A USB stick for the bare minimum or even an external hard drive or various online/cloud backup services (generally dislike them because subscriptions and what are you going to do without internet?) are really not that expensive and will save your ass one day.
