I also want to add how stupid it is that they are putting resources into catching drug addicts (who need help) and people who want to party on the dark net who aren't really hurting anyone but themselves while the dark net is full of child pornographers who keep innocent children as slaves and then abuse them until they are too old and finished with them so a lot of the time they end up killing them just so some random pedophiles can jack off to it (people don't want to hear things like this but its happening everyday). Its fucking bullshit that they are wasting resources and money on drug market places when they could use it to be saving children.

Decriminalize ALL drugs. Spend the money on centers for drug addicts instead of catching dealers and users and putting them in jail. Start treating addiction as a health issue. Stop wasting money on teenagers with weed. Reduce deaths from Ecstasy pills by making it pure mdma at the correct dose. Open centers for opiate addicts with pure heroin, morphine ect so no one will die from opiate overdoses as well (opiates aren't very harmful at the correct dose. The problem is you never know what you are actually getting and how strong it is).

People will always be ignorant about these things so this won't happen. Hopefully in the future people will realize this.

wonderlandif your teammate has 900 ping, its probably not ddos, more like a shitty connection. however since the internet still works in some capacity your friend can easily check if its ddos. (by typing netstat -a, router logs, wireshark etc and looking at the connections).

if some retard is trying to dos by pressing 2 buttons in loic or something we might even get his ip and be able to retaliate. the chance of the attacker being retarded is high, as evidenced by the internet still being up (if there is an attacker at all).

maybe ascertain that it is in fact ddos before posting random shit?

Please let me quote myself from the very first post

"It could just be a huge coincidence that at the exact moment we were looking good on snakewater his ping went to 900 and he couldn't move. Also got to mention that the odds were 81% in favor of TLR on saloon.tf." Also scrab has never had internet problems in his history of playing tf2. As I said though it could have just been his net. The point I was trying to make is that ddosing is more likely to happen with saloon.tf so people need to watch out.

As ETF2L decided to allow betting both on yourself and against your team I want to remind everyone that even if your league allows to do so betting against your team is against Saloon.tf's rules and may get you banned from all our activities and future events (including sponsored ones if that happens).

You may get away betting on your team in leagues that allow that though as we're more loose in that matter.

I'm also going to stop adding all ETF2L games that require spread and refund them, as well as vastly reduce amount of HL games added in the future since there is a valid competitior in that gamemode.

Current status:
ESEA - betting on any outcome disallowed
ozfortress - betting on any outcome disallowed
ETF2L - betting both against and for your team allowed
AsiaFortress - betting against your team (and maybe for it) to be disallowed
UGC - no statement yet, pending query

CHERRYI thought you're my friend sheepy :(
I've closed the bets normally as it didn't seem that much of a deal you seem to make it look like especially as you weren't forced to forfeit a game.
What you should do next time is leave the server and ask admin for a chance to replay on a different date.

As for shutting down Saloon because of this it's almost impossible for a potential DDoSer to attack you if you're careful enough and one could say that if you really want to win you can take few easy extra steps so I'm with Ondkaja on this one.

CHERRY I love you and think you and your site are great. I do not think you should shut down Saloon.tf yet as its great for tf2. I think this thread should just be a warning for people to protect themselves as best they can in prem this season (and you americans). So far I agree that we should keep saloon up and try to get people to realize that they are more at risk of getting ddos'd now though and should read up about how to protect themselves as best as possible.

I managed to convince my dad to drive me there (its gonna be a long ride) but we aren't doing too well on money and I really wanna go to this lan. If anyone wants to hug me or beat me up (the latter probably) I would be really grateful if you donated a little. Its totally up to you how much you donate. I really just need some for the tickets themselves mostly. You don't have to donate this is just for friends who want to see me there and for frenchies to beat me up at last.
