#120 Problem with RGL Policy in TF2 General Discussion
aierasilence_bottomaieraOk now this time post it on your main :)
This is my main
-account 13 months old
-one non f2p game that you have 0 hours in
-no significant time on any other game
-<800 hours on record
-top fragged first log on a class you have 25 hours on
-seems to care a lot about comp tf2 but has <40 logs
-all highest class hours on classes that have a lot gamemodes (jump maps, dodgeball, etc.)
-furry + trans
Yeah idk about this one chief

Nice to know you've stalked me going so deep as to look at my logs to prove a moot point. That's extremely creepy. This is my main account, I've had accounts before this that I have de facto deactivated. You're not entitled to that explanation, however.

#8 Titanfall Movement Love Letter in Other Games

Movement is the only thing that motivates me to play shooters in general (I don't really care about shooting things too much lol; being able to surf a whole map is more fun to me anyway) and I seriously want to give titanfall a try one of these days. Thanks for sharing that OP

  • leagues shouldn't even need a written "no slurs allowed rule". that should be understood behavior. the implication of a slur should always be enough to warrant a ban
  • this clearly was not a ban by association. even if it was, it's a good thing. i actually agree with banning people that are associated with notably bad people in the community.
  • any league should have the right to not allow anyone person to play for any reason they deem necessary. this is important b/c a) you cant catch everything with the rules, and b) its important for a league (or literally any non-government organization or company) to be able to establish a culture, especially one with a zero-tolerance policy on racism.
  • it being a meme or a joke literally does not matter.
  • if you are banned or punished by a league, for any reason. you're not a victim, you're not being cancelled. you're not entitled to due process. you're not literally being put in jail because an eports league decides that they do not want you a part of their organization.
Seinfeldits a privately hosted FPS game competitive league, if u get banned u dont get a trial u have no rights there are no laws that save u. the most u can do is ask for ur money back. not commenting on the legitimacy of whether cember should be banned or not, ive never had a problem with him, but u guys really need to stop acting like ur 1st amendment is being infringed
  • pointing out the hypocrisy of the admins for saying slurs is good. it's of my opinion that anyone even loosely associated with the toxic racist/sexist/transphobic culture that is underpinning at least a plurality of the competitve tf2 esports scene shouldn't be an admin. of course, rgl is allowed to promote anyone they want to as admin, as well as ban anyone they want to.
  • yes, that culture exists, there's been countless examples brought up in the past several years. dont try to deny it, and its good for a league to be proactive rather than reactive in dealing with a massive toxicity issue.
  • if you don't like it, don't play.

#1 Weird mouse/peripheral setups for gaming in Hardware

So a while back I noticed that over the years from gaming and being on my computer so much, that my wrists were in pain often and I lost a lot of fine motion in my mouse movements. Something that I just said "fuck it" and tried while trying to snipe in TF2 one way was to bind my scroll wheel to +attack, and it gave me a much more comfortable, lighter grip on my mouse (because my index is a lot farther away from my thumb) as well as made my reaction time with hitscan single-shot weapons a lot better.

Before, when I was clicking with m1, it would slightly move my mouse to the upper left. I know for a fact that this isn't placebo because I physically feel the difference in my hands/wrists on top of performing better.

Does anyone else rig their stuff in a weird way for accessibility reasons?

#25 FBTF shuts its doors permanently in News
sandblastTino_[*]

With NA having issues and SA closing doors it seems the darkest days might still lie in front of the community. Really sucks to hear that another chapter of the book is coming to an end but huge thanks to all of the SA people who put time and effort in. It was hard in NA at times, but that's nothing compared to the difficulty that SA had.The fact that SA had a scene at all is just a testament to how much people actually cared.

yo BTS is hosting TF2 btw :D game is still kicking. we still have a NA league. SA can get back on their feet 100% just believe and someone take control and run something. people will follow if they actually care.

let's say that BTS is a masssive success and revitalizes the game. do we even want that?

our scene is organic, mostly ran by inhouse, made-by-us-for-us leagues. the fact that several of those leagues have died- with the presupposition that BTS is a miracle of a lan- means that the scene will likely drastically change and centralize away from our own community. as, in this case, bigger esports orgs and probably the primary league being shifted to a large org that we have little say of how it is ran. and while the influx of potentially new people will be great if this all works out, it's done at the expense of alienating ourselves from a competitive scene that we've built for ourselves to maximize the fun we get out of the game.

i know this is gonna get downfragged, hard, but while the tf2 community at large is sadly dwindling and waning, its led by and ran by people who care about it. multitudes of content creators, community server admins, not to mention the players who largely play for their own enjoyment than the potential to, if they make it at the top, turn it into a career. (i'm definitely FOR players getting paid btw, it's obviously a huge plus in this pros-"cons" list i have in my head- playing this game at a high level and entertaining people on twitch is fucking labor)

not to mention the rampant toxic attitudes that plague even the highest divisions of play in every major tf2 league... that shit will be exposed, and if you like that facet of tf2 competitive "culture" (which, why would you...) say goodbye to having a complete lack of accountability in what you say and do

[*] to FBTF closing operations. it's sad to see that regions of the world particularly marginalized by most of the esports sphere of consciousness losing their footing in terms of losing their leagues.
