if i'm not mistaken, the entire point of this thread was to call out RGL for giving cember an indefinite ban and probation for supposed "consistent behavior issues in the past" rather than just a flat 2 week ban. the admins have already admitted to being wrong about this and corrected the ban, so i don't understand why we're arguing about slurs.

I just wanna reiterate
VirgilHe did not explicitly say a slur, but if RGL wants to consider the implication of a slur ban worthy then whatever, that's their business.
I totally get the two week side of the ban, it was everything else I had issue with, and that part has been resolved. There are the issues regarding admin transparency overall, but I discussed those privately with sigafoo.

Air_If only we listened to the multiple people saying to avoid rgl. How could we have ever seen this coming when their other leagues had zero issues with admin discretion

dbki feel like yall have constantly found SOMETHING to be mad about since rgl started, like even when I agree i cant help but feel there will still be people crying regardless of the situation. the only reason people didnt do this with esea is there was never an opportunity to do so.
No the reason people didn't do this shit in esea is because if you were to much of a massive idiot lpkane would start handing out permanent "refunds". Even after he stopped doing much on esea admins usually just ignored your complaints or told you to deal with it. Exception being Tri who had way to much on his plate anyway.

imagine reading all that lmfao
imagine reading all that lmfao
- leagues shouldn't even need a written "no slurs allowed rule". that should be understood behavior. the implication of a slur should always be enough to warrant a ban
- this clearly was not a ban by association. even if it was, it's a good thing. i actually agree with banning people that are associated with notably bad people in the community.
- any league should have the right to not allow anyone person to play for any reason they deem necessary. this is important b/c a) you cant catch everything with the rules, and b) its important for a league (or literally any non-government organization or company) to be able to establish a culture, especially one with a zero-tolerance policy on racism.
- it being a meme or a joke literally does not matter.
- if you are banned or punished by a league, for any reason. you're not a victim, you're not being cancelled. you're not entitled to due process. you're not literally being put in jail because an eports league decides that they do not want you a part of their organization.
Seinfeldits a privately hosted FPS game competitive league, if u get banned u dont get a trial u have no rights there are no laws that save u. the most u can do is ask for ur money back. not commenting on the legitimacy of whether cember should be banned or not, ive never had a problem with him, but u guys really need to stop acting like ur 1st amendment is being infringed
- pointing out the hypocrisy of the admins for saying slurs is good. it's of my opinion that anyone even loosely associated with the toxic racist/sexist/transphobic culture that is underpinning at least a plurality of the competitve tf2 esports scene shouldn't be an admin. of course, rgl is allowed to promote anyone they want to as admin, as well as ban anyone they want to.
- yes, that culture exists, there's been countless examples brought up in the past several years. dont try to deny it, and its good for a league to be proactive rather than reactive in dealing with a massive toxicity issue.
- if you don't like it, don't play.

I understand putting people in problematic friend groups under the microscope a little more, it makes sense to evaluate these people as "high risk" from an administrative prospective. But giving someone a harsher punishment because of their friends is wayyy over board. Especially for literally saying "Ni".

GrapeJuiceIIIim pretty sure there's a limit on NA players in ETF2L as well (?)
Jumping in quickly to this to say that there is no limit like this in ETF2L, some full NA and SA teams have played before in the league already and outside of the seasons ETF2L allows any nation with a complete roster to play in nation cups as well

Nice to know you've stalked me going so deep as to look at my logs to prove a moot point. That's extremely creepy. This is my main account, I've had accounts before this that I have de facto deactivated. You're not entitled to that explanation, however.
