#11 How to reduce wrist tiring? in Off Topic
Lemmy421jayydo you stretch for every 2 hours of gaming and do pregame warmup stretches?
What kind of stretches would you recommend?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EiRC80FJbHU

the ones around the 3 to 5 minute mark are the most important stretches imo. also you should do circles with your wrist (slowly, and not too hard. you're not looking for a strong feeling when stretching, you want to relax and loosen your muscles).

i recommend strengthening the forearm using this video

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CLjtSyuE11I

#10 is correct. when you only rest your wrist on the mousepad and not include the forearm, you put a lot of pressure on your wrist which usually fatigues and causes pain to the forearm too

when browsing the internet and not gaming, the same goes for typing but letting your wrist hover on the mouse/keyboard is important too.

when typing using your keyboard you should be trying to move your entire arm instead of just your wrists. this wears out the wrist a lot faster than you think

i recommend not gaming for at least 3 days (or at least keep it to an hour of light gaming) for now and solely focus on stretching. dont go to strengthening until you feel like the pain is alleviating and getting less and less with each day

do you stretch for every 2 hours of gaming and do pregame warmup stretches?

i also recommend at least drenching it in hot water or at least wearing a compression sleeve/brace while gaming

#1 lf im team to mentor in Mentoring

hi

I mentored micro.wav last season and it was pretty fun reviewing demos and maps for them. i'm bored, cant play this season due to wrist problems, and i have more free time now that i picked up more hours at work. i'm willing to do demo/map reviews for an im team in my free time. i'm not as high of a level as other advanced/invite level players, but i'd like to share some of my experience and help a team out while rona got us chillin

idk ig i put exp here, i've never done a post like this so

esea open s29 ego my eggo roamer (playoffs)
esea open s30 hugs n kisses/nav esports scout/med
esea open s31 skyz gaming medic
rgb4 esport athlete scout
rgl s1 im ratz team med (playoffs)
rgl s2 main sword art on9 roamer (playoffs)
rgl s3 div-1 for destructive criticism (sub)

not doing any atm, do not add!

#61 RGL Division Restructure in TF2 General Discussion

the timing of the div-1 and div-2 halving was bad, but the rationale behind it was very plausible. glancing at the scrims results for most of the teams in each division, i do agree with daffodil that there was a disparity between the div-1 and div-2 teams.

Though, some of the teams in div-2 do not make sense compared to the other teams in main. I looked at a few (e.g. trollface esports and first yarn team ever) and compared it with some of the "top tier" main teams from personal opinion (e.g. rodney and the stangers, my gaming estrogen, yeremy).

I'm not sure how some of these teams ended up in div-2 while the others ended up in main. You can argue experience, though a team like yarn legacy (w/ playmo on demo) has been losing to main teams that i wouldn't rank as high, while teams like rodney can clearly contest in div-2 yet choose not to scrim against div-2/higher level teams? yet teams like yeremy are actively scrimming div-2 teams, are contesting evenly or losing close, and have players with invite exp and are also off-classing on (seemingly?) their worst classes.

you can only base so much off of scrim results if the teams seemingly only choose to scrim teams within the division that they want to play, and in the case of some of these teams, it's clear that some of them were placed in the wrong division and the ruling seems to be a bit biased. I understand that the higher main teams should be able to beat/trade scrims with lower div-2 teams but there's teams in both divs mentioned that clearly should be swapped.

from what i know, some teams affected were forced into their divs (not sure what the exact rationale was). though from personal exp, sword art on9 was given the chance to play in advanced or main in s2 at the discretion of the admins. even though we were capable of playing in low-mid advanced, im not sure what was difference from that ruling to some of the rulings for this season

not to mention that one of the teams has an admins and/or opinions from admins playing in the affected divisions were taken into consideration. I do believe there is some bias and inconsistent ruling on some of the placements but then again, i couldn't be an admin cause i had a ban on rgl (EVEN tho daf asked me to apply).

also i have some bias in this since i'm friends with some of the people involved, though i try to keep this nerd essay as unbiased as possible

tl;dr: inconsistent rulings on team placements from personal opinion for the main/div-2 divisions, I have a feeling admins in said divisions personally had a take into the rulings for said teams

despite his past experiences of not being necessarily able to commit, i can say as a past teammate that when he's fully focused, he's going to improve exponentially tbh

#73 Discussing Scratch's ban and RGL in TF2 General Discussion

what exactly does it mean to be on probation. what are players on probation limited from doing/saying/whatever os related to the tag? Does that include trash talk? im still not exactly sure how the probation system works and what it monitors and if it can be removed after a period of time
