hidden background tasks are not really an issue with modern computers. if it's not obvious, it's not worth looking at.

that said, all you can do is try and minimize CPU usage. Watch for big background tasks like browsers and other games (I've done this) and turn down/off things like shadows

I just don't like the split CP mechanic.

Are you using screen capture or game capture? Game capture let's me record with barely any performance loss at 720p 60fps. It might also help that I'm using a quad-core, though.

honestly? the (tf2) life I've lived had taken me down the path to meet so many people i like so much. i wouldn't change a thing for fear of missing any of my online friends. it would be so easy to just be at the wrong place or time and never meet an online friend at all.

If this ever happens, I'm going to save a bit of money on things i never should've bought, though.
