i guess it adds some input to the topic, so i'll copypaste my comment from etf2l
I think making a 6s season is more beneficial than doing 6s cups, I’ve been talking with Gubbins on his stream and he made a good point: majority of games seem to not care about the cups mostly because a lot of people do meme stuff on it, there are no prize pools nor medals for one night cups other than pixel trophy on the ETF2L team profile.
Also a lot of people are isolated/working at home (like me) and more available than usual since this whole coronavirus outbreak which makes me think it would be actually a good time to push more games than usual while this plan makes people play less games than usual.
The only reasons I think it may be understandable are staff changes (sorry guys :D) and the server failure and data recovery attempts which I know it’s really hard task to do since you need to merge old data with new portion while a lot of people recreated their profiles, so their profiles differ with their ID and potential data, so basically in order to not dig in all data manually it needs some app to be written to compare and insert correct data. That’s some sort of rough stuff.
And of course please respect admins, I believe they’re doing their best to make European TF2 competitive as much fun for everyone as possible. If you place your opinions here, it’s highly likely they’re gonna read it and draw some conclusions.

yeah it's like <13 yo users don't exist on youtube although being not allowed in the ToS
i don't feel i wasted time because the tf2 let me meet people who have become my precious friends and it's worth much more than any time spent in any game, eventually i could meet them on an event of my own
also, people seem to be grateful for what i'm doing on ETF2L and with LANsilesia, so that's only +++

Hey, another mastercomfig user here. Your configs let me play on some shit gaming laptop and I was super happy because that let me use 120 Hz with stable 120 fps on a laptop with i7-6700HQ and GTX 960M (yes, this is amazing).
Without GCFScape you can't watch what's inside the .vpk files afaik and that makes it complicated.
scrambledThis is coming from someone that actively uses and loves most features of mastercomfig so keep that in mind, however the two most clunky things about it in my opinion are transitioning to it and updating it.
I understand that the transitioning part has been made very easy by just moving files from /cfg to /cfg/user but I've had supposedly tech literate people struggle with this because they don't want to read a documentation, they want discoverability through use. I feel an installer of some sort would help this issue.
This is a huge point. Do you know why people still use comanglia's configs? Because it's simpler to copy some sort of text to autoexec.cfg and not to change your class config names to class_c.cfg. Last week someone proposed me a Mann Co, Key for help with setting it up which makes me think people think it's really complicated to use VPKs no matter how easy it is.
Pleeeeease, try to make base configs (ultra/high/medium etc) + all modules as a single text files and let it work with class files without _c extension in the filename.
In this way it's very transparent - you just see what do you set up. Give some title before every config with date and version so people could check what version of your config do they have so they could be able to check if their local version is outdated compared to the latest version on your site.
You can do it in this way: let people check what do they want on your site (let's say I want high config + no footsteps + flat mouse + no pyroland + no soundscapes), I click download and then your server concatenate that high config with all modules I chose to a single autoexec.cfg file which I just place in my <tf2-folder>/tf/cfg folder, I set up start parameters and I'm happy do use setup I wanted.
This would allow for some more flexibility, because let's say I want to have high quality models because I like how AWP looks like in game so I want to get a better look on it. It's only one cvar which doesn't do much. I can look for a config and change it easily.
Anyway, you're doing excellent job with these configs, really.
DesonatorCould we get a version for all the other classes?
what do you mean by that? it shows up stats for every classes, i just made some screenshots on sniper
Yo,
long time ago Oli made an Android application for reading the logs called Pocket Logs.
You may ask: why do I need an app like that?
Well, it's just much more comfortable to watch logs in that app where everything can be seen in more readable way and it's basically designed to use for smartphones.
While the app isn't in the final version (as it's not on the Play Store yet), most of the features work already and changes needed to call the app "ready" are minor, I just wanted to share it with you tolet you see how it works and enjoy.

You need to enable Unknown sources on your phone in order to install the app.
When you got it, use the search button to find your profile @ logs.tf:
Open it, click the search button here:

If you have any tips on how can we improve the application or you'd like to report bugs - feel free to do it here.
Hi there,
since I'm organising a LAN in Poland I wanted to host all servers on my computer which runs Windows (smh), so I had to set up everything for that OS and one of the local servers was a jump server. Eventually I found out a lot of people have consistent problems with the internet connection (wow what a captain obvious), so I'd like to share the server files with you.
The server contains:

Also to not get bored with jumps locally you have a lot of jump maps included from the Jump Academy repository (about 450).
Download:
https://jumplocally.supra.tf
Prerequesities:
- Windows (preferably 64-bit, but TF2 client/server are 32-bit)
- At least 20 GB disk space, preferably on SSD to guarantee good server performance
- I can't tell how much RAM space do you need to have TF2 + server running stable as I have 64 GB in my PC, but on my host supra.tf it uses about 2 GB/instance of RAM, so make sure your PC has at least 8 GB RAM
- Text editor of your choice (my personal choice is Visual Studio Code)
Setup:
- Unpack the archive to any place you want (preferably in some folder being in the root folder of the hard drive, because the location path is very short then)
- Go to the jumplocally folder and edit jump.bat with the following changes:
Let's say you want to have port 50000 and you unpacked the archive to C:/tf2servers. That means your content of the file should be:srcds.exe -port <your server port> -console -game tf +map jump_4starters +maxplayers 32 -ip 0.0.0.0 +clientport 28041 -steamport 28042 +tv_port 28045 -autoupdate -steam_dir <location of the steamdir folder> -steamcmd_script <location of the jumplocally folder>\tf2_ds.txt
srcds.exe -port 50000 -console -game tf +map jump_4starters +maxplayers 32 -ip 0.0.0.0 +clientport 28041 -steamport 28042 +tv_port 28045 -autoupdate -steam_dir C:\tf2servers\steamcmd -steamcmd_script C:\tf2servers\jumplocally\tf2_ds.txt
- add your steamid into the admin list in the jumplocally/tf/addons/sourcemod/configs/adminlist_simple.ini
you can find your steamid @ steamidfinder.com, i left some example lines in the config
- Double left click on jump.bat when you save changes and voila - you just set up your new server
The default port is 28040. Not changing the location of the steamcmd files can prevent your server from updating automatically on start.
From what I saw connecting through
connect localhost:28040
or
connect 127.0.0.1:28040
doesn't work - try checking your local IP address in your network and most likely it's going to work:
https://i.imgur.com/G1JGbAz.png
connect 192.168.10.11:28040
I'd say good practice would be binding a sm_admin menu like:
bind ' sm_admin
so by clicking ' you can easily go to the admin menu and change the map for whatever you want. The map list consists of jump maps only, but you can always force changing the map for not-jump map by
sm_map <map>
or just
rcon changelevel <map>
It may not work at some point - I have to admit I wasn't testing it fully due to lack of the time. Gimme some feedback - it's important for me.

i work as a system engineer, i deploy systems depending on my customers' needs like virtualisation clusters (hyper-v/vmware), IT environment mgmt software, full encryption software, backup software, some windows server setups like active directory things, sometimes i have to set up some networking like routers/switches/utms from scratch - beginning on the initial project, ending up with ready network and happy customer
im super happy from what i'm doing because i feel people (both co-workers and customers) admire my work and amount of things which i have to learn to do it
also i have freedom of choice what do i want to learn and how do i want to organise my time at work
