1. I've had, approached and been approached by sponsors in the past, and it varies depending on them. A lot of gaming communities, as mentioned, sometimes sponsor competitive teams for their games.

2. Depends on the sponsor. I think it's perfectly fair for them to ask you to change your name, or at least your tag.

3. Again, this depends. One sponsor I had wanted us to post on their forums consistently, which was weird and we didn't bother with them. Others may ask you to provide something on your team page that links back to them and their sponsors. Others might want you to say something about them in matches or something; usually it will be something reasonable, and worth getting a free server/fees/etc.

Were you able to pay? You should have gotten email confirmation and the ability to choose your seat.

Cinq runs some of the popular TF2 IRC channels with his bots, and currently supplies a few servers to teams that need them via an IRC command.

However, I spoke with him about adding servers to the bots, and he said it's not something that can be easily done at the moment, and he doesn't have time to implement the functionality himself. I offered to take a look at the code and see what I can come up with, but until then, it looks like he won't be able to do anything with extra servers.

Glad to see another community branching into 6's though, it's always nice to have more support.

You should talk to Cinq about maybe adding these to the scrim channel as dedicated !book servers, so that any team can use them whenever they want. If you're interested in that sort of thing, of course.

also hey, if you don't want to practice your shotgun, don't use it. it's not hard. if you seriously need the extra 20 hp after rocket jumping, you should probably consider a actually dming and not just jumping on people's heads.

More specifically, before you do anything, think "what are the chances of me dying from doing this?", then double the chance, and then reconsider. If you're probably going to die, most of the time you probably shouldn't do that thing.
