#19 takyahud in Customization

I updated the hud for MvM a few days ago, played MvM with the hud post-update and I didn't crash. The upgrade panels aren't themed, but mvm is playable.

Mannpower is not yet supported. I have not even touched the game mode yet, so likely won't get updated for another week.

KanecoIs MvM fully supported?

Not at the moment, and I currently do not have plans to, but maybe I'll find time some night.

b4stianWhy did you change the buff/low color-values? Whayay made them so that they matches with all the team-colored bars.

Forgot to mention how to get the old animation back:
To disable pulsing health bars (low/buffed, navigate to custom/FLV (BLU)/scripts/ and rename HudAnimations_tf-NOPULSE.txt to HudAnimations_tf.txt, overwriting/delete the other.

With that said, I've been using it for so long that I wanted a little change. Also,

I work on this mostly for myself and my tastes, so it may not mesh with your styles, but I am trying to keep it as themed as I can.

You should still be able to enjoy it as normal once you rename hudanimations_tf.

#24 PDX vs SEA in TF2 General Discussion

The thing about AR is that it is the first attempt at a game mode entirely different from 6 v 6 in recent times. It's attempting to recreate the "best" parts of tf2 (constant midfight-like action) while removing the stalemates. That's the chance it has at succeeding, but the publicity of AR has been poor.

The reception from the comp community has been the typical "lol not 6s, get good," that has been killing off new blood for ages. When people stop trying to feel they're inherently better than others based on game-type alone, maybe other game modes will have a chance, but without the comp community's backing, and a hard backing at that, everything will fail.

I appreciate the attempt and interest PBL has brought out, but it's a small step in a major uphill battle that has little traction. People need to be talking about it, getting excited about it. Some sort of incorporation with tf2center/serveme would be a MAJOR step in increasing the word and being able to get players able to test these things without having to contact "the right people" on the right servers. I understand it's in constant development as well, but this stuff's gotta get momentum.

I think the idea's good in principle, it just needs to be ironed out more and i'm not keen on the pick/ban system. The arena concept is similar to cs in that it would make matchmaking damn easy and casual without the hoops of traditional competitive tf2 that take months to really grasp given the spattering of information and lack of helpful players in typical games.

#9 ABS vs PBT keys (keyboard) in Hardware

ABS are cheaper, thinner, but are more easily customizable. PBT keys are thicker and won't wear down after use. Your legends (the key symbols) won't shine/wear down with PBT keys, but will with ABS keys. All of my old keyboards have their wasd legends, including my CM QFR Storm. My ducky and filco have PBT keys and show no signs of wear.

#12 LAN Vegas Nerd Years Eve in LAN Discussion

Holding off on buying LAN tickets until I can confirm hotel rooms, but I can't book a room checking in on the 29th and checking out on the 1st. I sent an email to skillconvention. Hope it gets settled and I'll get to see some west coast tf2ers

Edit: Booked takram and manwich. Need more of you bitches to come. I might be able to fit one or two people driving from socal depending how much room our rigs take.

#2 Low fps help? in Customization

Quake textures won't get you FPS. dx8 will get you a few frames, but if your frames are dropping as low as 60, it's a bigger problem. How dusty is your computer? I'm guessing your cpu is getting too hot. tf2 is a cpu-intensive game. Check your temps.

#9 takyahud in Customization

try the normal takyahud, not classic if you're playing MVM and let me know if it works. I played mvm with it maybe two months ago and no updates should have messed with it since. Sorry, not very motivated to fix mvm problems or holiday/halloween/robot invasion stuff, as I don't play those modes.

#4 takyahud in Customization
AmirBnkSo you're not going to continue support on the cross version? man, that sucks. I really liked it. :c

takyahud-classic should have the same alternative health styles. The two should actually be very similar, as takyahud was created from the latest futura yahud. If those alt health styles aren't in classic, I'll look into adding/fixing them when I return from my trip.

takyahud should be fully functional for now until some update breaks things at least if you enjoy it.

For classic:
Documentation is limited right now, as I've been lazy/lacking the time, but it'll be there eventually. Just go through clientscheme.res if you need to change colors. Alt scoreboards and health were untouched. Alt health files should be functional, but the old scoreboards are not updated (no damage, health, map).

I'm going on vacation on 11/18 for a few weeks, so not many more fixes for a while.

A few noteworthy things I changed on classic: backpack/selections/style/taunts. Added taunt loadout, winpanel, killstreaks, eureka effect, backpack pages (poorly implemented for now), background, various bugfixes, team menu fixes, color fixes. I think I broke in game .ss handler (motd), but I haven't tested it after guessing a fix. Ya'll just have to live with it til I get back or use the actual websites (I recommend you add your logs.tf profile page to your favorites for faster access).

I figure I'd just throw this out there more publicly for everyone to grab. This is something I enjoy working on in my spare time, figuring out what line does what, what looks best. Consequently, I work on this mostly for myself and my tastes, so it may not mesh with your styles, but I am trying to keep it as themed as I can.

I've put in a surprising amount of hours trying to learn things about little fixes in huds, but this is still almost entirely whayay's work, I'm merely trying to keep it modern. So extra special thanks to whayay, garm3n, omni, rays for their work on huds.

#19 net_graph font in Customization

Like I said, change the tall values until you see something you like. If it isn't spreading out, change the FONT itself. Otherwise delete sourcescheme and see if you prefer that. What you want is the default netgraph but you're using a custom sourcescheme

#16 net_graph font in Customization

Delete your hud's sourcescheme.res. Could recolor portions of your hud's menus, but unless you delete the netgraph portion in sourcescheme, this is the simpler way. Or just change the fonts and tall values in sourcescheme. You need to restart tf2 for things to take effect.

#61 MedicStats SourceMod plugin in Projects

I know logs document overkill damage, but a recent update seems to have given spies a lot more damage than normal with stabs, skewing overall damage numbers dramatically. Is there a way to normalize this slightly or to introduce total and effective damage?

i.e. A demoman's damage would show his overkill damage total, but when moused over it would show his actual damage total? The same would be done with overall team damage. A similar function to see damage dealt/taken to a class when mousing over the matrix would be amazing as well, but that's a little too optimistic.

I know a lot of this would need to be co-authored along with zoob, but it's just a suggestion I'd like to see implemented. Thanks for your work f2.
