#13 History of TF2 prize money in TF2 General Discussion

Yeah these ppl must be so dumb lol like do u even integrate shitlords lmfao

If you didn't have an F in maths (or statistics which is what this is, actually) you should know that
a) area charts are bad
b) you must give a proper unit for the y axis of your charts, ie. "cumulative prizepools of leagues"
c) area charts are even worse when they look like line charts and everything your chart screams "this is a comparison, I'm a line chart!"

#16 Coach to i58 maybe unfair? in TF2 General Discussion

Wait, coaches had 3rd person? I must have missed that.

How is there even any discussion about this? Taunts that allow players to have 3rd person for a few seconds are banned lmao.

#37 Full Tilt denies FROYO, punches ticket to Insomnia58 grand finals in News
flumeOk people, here I come.
To get this out of the way, no I'm not a b4nny sub, ok?
I get why you hate b4nny, for being cringy, edgy, salty etc etc, but during the whole lan the hate was INSANE. Even from the analysts and commentators who, IMO, are supposed to be as neutral as possible, but no, when Froyos opponent was coming back hard (idk wich match sorry) they were just like "COMEBACK IS REAL!!!!1!!!!11!!!!!" and it was so bad to watch. Just because you hate b4nny (and I don't care, he shittalked way to much euros), but what did we, euros do? We went down to the level of stupidity and salt that b4nny was working with, and we was just as bad as he was, so we didn't really win if you ask me. I think that you shoudn't hate the whole team, I don't think phorofor, muma, freestate, TLR or paddie gave us a reason for us hating them really.

u are wrong

#24 Banned without reason twice in Site Discussion

On this note, I'd also like to request an actual ban appeal subforum, because really, you shouldn't be forced to scour steam for help when you're suddenly banned for no reason. And you have to, because the IRC is dead, and there isn't even a member list of this site, so most users wouldn't even know who to PM.

DoomLordUnwilling to disclose the details is not remotely understandable. That's nearly as draconian as it gets, and not the sort of stuff that fosters a good community.

This isn't like cheating where they won't tell you so you can end up gaming the system. You shouldn't have to chase people down to find out why you are banned wtf'ing f.

Personally I agree with this actually, but I can understand him in that he just didn't want to talk to me about what other tf.tv admins are doing and why while busy at i58. It's not really mana's responsibility to sort this out anyways, but his who banned me. And if someone had to police tf.tv staff I guess it would be enigma, not mana.

also I didn't want mana to be upset after he just unbanned me sshh

RainofLightisn't enigma like the only other admin

No idea but I tried adding enigma several times both when it first happened and now, and he didn't react. If he wanted me off his website, I think he'd just tell me. It's his site after all. Banning someone from your website just to have them unbanned by another admin seems senseless to me.

#1 Banned without reason twice in Site Discussion

I have recently been banned from the site with no reason or any information given.

This happened for the second time. A month or so ago, I was suddenly banned as well, which lasted for about a week and then it was fixed. I assumed it was a bug.

When it happened for the second time just now, I was forced to pester mana on steam, because the IRC was/is dead.
Mana kindly unbanned me and let me know that it was not a bug, but in fact a staff member who banned me because of "some post I made on the forums".

Since he understandably didn't want to tell me the details, I feel compelled to make this thread.

I think everyone who reads this will agree with me that I don't really shipost on here; certainly not to the degree that a lot of members do. These are the last posts I made prior to being banned:

Show Content

Obviously, nothing banworthy is going on here, and anyone interested can check my post history to find out that neither was there anything further back.

Since I cannot see how I have ever violated any forum rules, and there was no information given with either ban (no pm or anything of the sort to even let me know I'm banned, which I only found out trying to make a post), I request with this thread that the staff member in question either explain the reasons for my repeated bans here or via PM.

The fact that mana unbanned me right away (saying that he "doesn't agree with the ban") proves my point that I was probably banned just because some staff member disliked my posts for whatever reason. Because of this, I wasn't able to participate in any i58 threads.

I'm only used this kind of behavior from tf2center staff and I'd rather not deal with it on this site.
I hope the situation will be resolved respectfully, but I will make a screenshot of this thread and in case it gets deleted and I get banned again, I will re-post it from an alt until I get told a reason not to, or enigma, being the owner, tells me he wants me to stop, in which case I guess I'll just have to leave the site. But to be honest, I have no idea why enigma, or any tf.tv staff would want this, so I hope the responsible staff will reply, because I'm genuinely curious.

#40 Do you think Valve cares about 6s? in TF2 General Discussion
Tobthe301stspartanTobsniptheir resources are too limited
lmao they make 2 million a day

two million dollars a day

Yes. Yet the TF2 dev team consists of like 3 or 4 people. The TF2 team must be underfunded.
If the TF2 devs get plenty of resources to work with they'd be able to hire more people but they don't.
They all worked overhours for multiple weeks when working on MyM and it still is a mess so they clearly don't have enough manpower for this thing, right? So why don't they just pay a couple of people to help them?
Are you confirming what I was saying or did you miss the point I was making?

That 2 million doesn't belong to the TF2 team. Valve decides what they provide the TF2 team with and it's not much.

Heh "are you confirming what I said or are you wrong?"

I'm confirming what you said in that Valve should fund tf2 development. You wrote "their" resources are limited, in reply to a thread titled "do you think valve cares", so I disagreed with that.

Valve have nearly unlimited resources and could do absolutely huge things for tf2 without even noticing the money is gone. How disconnected or not the tf2 team is from the money faucet and how democratic the resource allocation process is and how much is decided by executives/chairmen etc. I can't say because I don't work at Valve. I don't know who at Valve is deciding not to spend some of their outrageous money montain on tf2, but whoever it is, I believe they easily could and should.

TobThey want to care. But their resources are too limited and they're too busy fixing other things. 6s will get more support. But other things should be prioritized.
Either they fix things that affect 100% of the playerbase or they put their time into supporting the 1% that cares about the competitive scene. I know what I'd pick if I worked for Valve.
Sucks for us but it's the truth.

I wonder what resources Valve provides for their 3rd most played game because I highly doubt it's anywhere near where it should be for such a popular game

#12 Class with the most potential? in TF2 General Discussion

Fully charged bargain sniper=theoretical 250 DPS
DH=236.25 DPS, both not counting reloads

near perfect bargain gameplay is more realistic than dh play though, because you need the target's help to maximize dh, but not sniper rifles
