Fact is my bad HDMI cable produces a noisy bad image and is probably going to break soon and a good one doesn't.

Well any recommendations on what cable i should get. One of my friends said that i should get a 1.4b for 120hertz but im not sure if that

You have to check your labtop's hardware, maybe the manual, maybe even call msi support.
But tbh it's not super likely that your hdmi port is 1.4.
If it is, you are lucky because the benq has a hdmi 1.4 input. You'll stil need the according cable.
If your labtop doesn't have hdmi 1.4 output, you'll probably have to get a PC of some sort or, if you really wanted, be McGyver and hack something together with an external graphics card.

Whether or not the computer drivers can do it is what I'm not sure of, but I imagine so. Bandwidth has nothing to do with it.

Yes it does. You will notice that a regular DVI cable only uses half of the possible pins while a dual link cable connects all the pins.

To use HDMI, your port (and cable) would have to be HDMI 1.4, which is unusual but possible, check your manual.
Otherwise there is only dual link dvi and (mini)displayport which your labtop doesn't seem to have.

Drivers shouldn't be an issue if oyu have the latest ones.

tl;dr if your HDMI is not 1.4 you need other hardware.
