#10 tf2 is broken. in Q/A Help
wpminnowstry lowering max server browser pings/minute in steam settings? same thing used to happen with my old router because it couldn't handle the amount of servers being pinged at once

Tried this too without success.

These are all the solutions anyone on the internet has proposed for this problem, if anyone else knows anything, please try to help instead of being dicks. If I contact steam support all they're gonna tell me is probably to reinstall everything and check my drivers. Which are up to date btw.

#6 tf2 is broken. in Q/A Help

Again, this is not a problem with my internet, other games and websites work fine and the one or two servers I can join I can play on without problems.
And this has been going on for over a week now, constantly so I really have no way of playing tf2 atm.

#1 tf2 is broken. in Q/A Help

This issue seems to have affected some other people but they all seem to have gotten rid of it. Not me.
There are no more tf2 servers I can join, comp or pub if I refresh the public server list, almost no servers are loaded, and the ones that are are a few assorted empty idle or kart servers. From my favorites, strangely enough only a warpath server I never play on works. I can join it and play fine. I can't join any other servers, if I try to join after a friend or by IP, server info displays nothing and joining doesn't work. Quickplay finds no servers at all. I tried deleting clientregistry.blob, deleting all steam folders, reinstalling tf2, forwarding ports, unforwarding ports and disabling my AV. The only thing that for some reason did something was disabling my windows firewall that allows tf2 by default in and out. Disabling it made a couple of valve servers pop up in the server list, but only a very small number (and all on shit maps).
I can't tf2 at all like this, pls send help.

Hitler jokes and Hitler comparisons are completely different. If you don't understand the difference, let me know and I'll enlighten you. This is coming from somebody born in Germany as well.

No, they are not. I was jokingly comparing him to hitler in an insinuation to his "dictatorial" actions of banning people for opposing his opinion. I was not seriously implying that he bears any resemblance to Hitler and I did not accuse him of murdering 6 million innocents.
Don't even try to pull the semantics card to make me look like an idiot.

Out of sheer curiosity, you thought that after you spoke to engima like that he would get on his fucking horse and unban you immediately?

Of course not, I just wanted to tell him that that would be the correct thing to do. Also, he did, so all is well.

You aren't really entitled to shit when it comes to this website. Nobody is.Rules are nice, and function to serve as positive guidelines for producing quality submissions, but ultimately it's enigma's decision to do whatever the fuck he wants with his website. You called out an admin, and he responded by banning you. Your overly-dramatic banter only goes to show that you didn't really learn anything about how to compose yourself on this site from being banned

Also no. I always follow the forum rules to keep this a nice place and I expect the same basic decency from everyone else and, above all, the admin that made these rules.

I don't care enough about my tf.tv membership to consider something stupid like "composing myself on this website" to not get banned, aside from that being hypocritical and stupid.
I just follow the rules and expect that to be enough. And if an admin feels like banning me for a valid post that just so happens to criticize one of his posts, I just have to leave the site.
I cared enough though to rant at enigma in IRC and in the end I got unbanned.
Would post the same stuff that got me banned again, nothing wrong with that.

Should you have acted like a whiny brat about it? Also no.

Why not, I got unbanned.

I got banned for saying that enigma wasn't backing up his claims with evidence

[17:36] <The301stSpartan> Fucking respond.
[17:42] <enigma> ?
[17:44] <The301stSpartan> What do you mean by "?"
[17:44] <The301stSpartan> This is fucking preposterous
[17:45] <The301stSpartan> You fucking banned ME from tftv for calling your arguments invalid?
[17:45] <The301stSpartan> Is this the 3rd Reich or what
[17:46] <enigma> no it's an internet video gaming forum
[17:47] <The301stSpartan> So why is it being run by someone who behaves like hitler instead of a video gaming forum admin?
[17:47] <The301stSpartan> I never posted a single troll post on tftv and I'm probably one of a handfull people who never posted stupid emoticons or the words "kid", "son" or "lel" just to piss somebody off
[17:47] <The301stSpartan> I never broke your rules
[17:47] <The301stSpartan> Every thread I made was because I had a legit question or because I wanted to help someone in some way
[17:47] <enigma> do you want to be unbanned?
[17:48] <The301stSpartan> I fucking expect to be unbanned
[17:48] <The301stSpartan> I want to know why you started banning people left and right for no reason
[17:48] <enigma> ok ask me again when you've calmed down
[17:48] <The301stSpartan> I don't have to ask you
[17:49] <The301stSpartan> I didn't break any rules
[17:49] <The301stSpartan> you are the one who went apeshit
[17:49] <The301stSpartan> you should be calming down and unban everyone you wrongfully banned
[17:50] <enigma> i am quite calm
[17:50] <enigma> have a nice day
[17:50] <The301stSpartan> I'm having a great day, thanks
[17:50] <The301stSpartan> So since you are so calm and considerate, would you be so kind as to inform me why I was banned?
[17:51] <The301stSpartan> Aka in what bannable way exactly I infringed the tf.tv rules, which I obviously did because otherwise you would have long unbanned me by now, considering that you are all calm and shit
[17:52] <The301stSpartan> thought so

enigmaKanecoenigmaKanecoETF2L has grown steadily over the past years despite being a community run free to play league, CEVO hasn't grown because people ditch it in favor of ESEA.yeaaaah none of this true

modeling the NA community after the dead european one is a good idea because ..?

Fair enough, I edited that out after I spoke to an etf2l admin and confirmed it. It hasn't grown but it isn't dead either. There were more than 300 teams signed up for the 6v6 league this season, that's at least 1800 players this season alone.

And I'm sure valve would be much more inclined or hinted to support a fully community run league than a business.
here are some cold hard facts:

sponsors do not magically appear
valve does not care about competitive TF2
european tf2 is dying
NA tf2 is stagnant

circlejerking each other about how a community-run league is going to save video gaming from the evils of capitalism and usher in a golden age of tf2 isn't just naive -- it's downright destructive

Did you know? Stating something as a fact without providing proof makes you appear as a fool!

rr-welp, rip tf2. i had fun watching the community kill its own game.

2edgy

No, all the band wagoning kids are going to be more concerned about the leagues, and not about the competition, with no top level competition, the game dies and the drive to get better comes to a halt, I've already decided that besides scrims and matches, I'm probably never warming up or practicing till we play Alfas team or mixup, I'd rather do homework or something else more productive

speaking of edgy, someone seems to like being cut

Platinumthe301stspartanPlatinum, I'm sure top invite players are pretty intelligent, why don't you invest some of those tf2 hours in the stock market if money is your only incentive?
I think the incentive for some people might be having fun playing and getting better at tf2 and possibly win money, without installing viruses that send their personal information to ESEA and raise their power bills in return.
I work 11 hours a day to make money. My tf2 time, which is limited in itself, is for tf2. I get esea is sleezy as fuck. Who is gonna step up to make something better? I sure as hell am not, are you?

I'm already doing more than you just by not being a top competitive player advocating the use of a league that installs malware on people's computer instead of supporting change.

PlatinumDo NFL quarterbacks help run day to day managerial operations for the league? The hell does being invite mean I should have to out in effort to make sure a successful migration happens. Bunch of problem makers and no solution guys in this community.

You can't be serious.
TF2=small NFL=not small
Invite teams are influencial because their games get a lot of views and thus interest leagues in supporting tf2 because that's how they get ad money.
what is simple logic

PlatinumWhat else do you want? The fucking game has been out for 6 years sorry if most of us don't want to wait for some experiment to come along to continue having fun. Don't be such a dense retard.

K that's a nice rebuttal and all but you are still implying that "most of us" define having fun by "winning money at LAN". Last time I counted, that's an option for 12 people and the tf2 community exceeds 23 players so I think you are either kind of bad at maths (and should maybe stay away from stocks after all) or your logic is flawed.
