pro: Public schools should be shining, towering cathedrals of knowledge. We should plow stupid amounts of money into them. Money gets sucked out at every level down to the students - fine. More. Make it so profitable to be an administrator and teacher - or hell, even a janitor - that top college graduates are ready to kill to join the public school system. More. Billions. Trillions. Pour it in. The U.S. has the cash, we're just spending it on bombers instead of schools. The graft and corruption will get insane - doesn't matter. More. Keep stashing the cash down the pipe until each school kid has everything they could ever want and more. More. The best public school in the country today should be remembered as a joke in comparison. But more money doesn't translate to better schooling, you say. Bullshit. More. Exponentially more. Public schools should be double-digit percentages of GDP spending. Huge, crazy, ungodly quantities of cash by the truckload. Armies of teachers. Acres of classrooms. More. We should spend nationally, wholistically and most-importantly, with a mindset of complete and utter disregard to return on investment. More. More. More.
anti: I'm so sick of liberals and Democrats saying "give Trump a chance." This is the sorry sort of "fair and reasonable" attitude which has given Republicans both houses of Congress, the Presidency and control of the Supreme Court. Republicans aren't reasonable people, and that's why they're winning. I'm fucking sick of losing. Fuck Trump: Start planning impeachment hearings now (like the other side was already doing when it looked like Clinton would win), and do everything possible to cripple this asshole and everyone in his party for the next four years. There's no reason to "give him a chance" - it's just time squandered while they fuck over the country with impunity. Dems need to grow a fucking spine, fight back and do everything possible to impede him and any plans he and his party is making. Trump's success isn't the country's success - it's exactly the opposite.
Edit: Heh, I'm getting downvoted... Probably by a bunch of Democrats. Hey, when Roe v. Wade gets thrown out, marriage equality gets outlawed, science education is gutted, environmental protections are gutted and your water becomes undrinkable, your 401k gets taken out by non-existent financial regulations, your kids are required to pray in school, and you lose your healthcare due to predatory insurance companies, I want you to remember this post.
