Jeez, why is Ellie getting downfragged ^
He's mostly right in that in *more* games you will get higher performance. Not all. But there's other reasons to go with NVIDIA like the PhysX technology which you might want, geforce experience and I think they have better optimized drivers too. Anyway, either choice is not a bad choice, AMD or NVIDIA

I don't think you really need a cpu cooler. That processor will run tf2 fine without any overclocking
Graphics card choice also depends on your resolution. Don't know if you forgot to include a monitor or if you already have one
70 WPM :( I blame my non-mechanical keyboard
fourUsing a toggle seam like a pretty bad idea to me, I'd use a +/- bind:
So it sets the interp to .5 when you press shift and resets it when you release shift. :)alias +int "cl_interp .5;" alias -int "cl_interp .033;" bind SHIFE "+int"
In case anyone tries that and doesn't know why it doesn't work, the shift is spelled incorrectly. Here's it again:
alias +int "cl_interp .5;"
alias -int "cl_interp .033;"
bind SHIFT "+int"
I'm actually pissing myself laughing at this thread
So does this mean that there will be very few 680s left and everyone will buy them instantly because it's really good value? At least if say someone is building a computer based on current generation (not including the gpus that aren't out yet) the 680 is really cheap
Does it make a me a bad person to be tempted to try this on a pub?
Not sure if someone has said it but haven't been able to download this for more than 24hours now. Will I be able to soon?
Overclocking is increasing the clock rate of something. In simple terms, make it faster than it is when you buy it. It's really easy to do with a graphics card and you should pretty much always do it unless you run every game perfectly.
You can overclock processors too. It decreases their lifespan slightly so it's worth overclocking when you think your processor has become a bit out-dated to get some extra performance
I would say if you have the extra money, get a 1080p monitor and a 2gb version of that video card
Yeah, I'll be getting one over the summer but I wanted to know how the 8350 performs in tf2 so I know if I should even consider it. And Flakx, since your Irish, do you know any places other than dabs.ie to buy computer parts in Ireland?
What are you saying. Giving tf2 a TITAN won't give tf2 more fps. It's very much cpu intensive so adding a more powerful gpu won't give you extra fps. Having a decent gpu will just maintain the fps that your processor is getting but won't give more
Probably not getting any extra performance because the gpu won't give you extra fps in tf2. And yeah, thanks for giving me the numbers JOE and rays. I guess I'll be getting the 8350 since there's no point in getting yet even more fps. Even if I get a 120Hz monitor, 170 fps is fine
