Saberat some point you guys are really kind of just crunching random numbers that make you feel better about your sjck setup that you paid like several hundred for

i'm not convinced that PERFECT INPUT will even make a difference

I think it's pretty obvious that it does. Making input lag minimal makes it easier for your brain's thoughts to be translated into actual actions in game. Because your brain isn't wired to work with a delay. Your brain wants things to work instantly, like in real life...
That's not to say that you can't get good without this stuff, but even comfort is a factor. And if you feel more comfortable playing, I think you're more likely to concentrating on the game

#66 Quake Live rumored gameplay changes in Other Games

Is quakelive still gonna be free?
Yeah, I feel like this is an elaborate ruse for people to get mad at ql and just buy quake 3 arena for CPMA. 0_0 Pretty much gonna happen to me

Wow. Can't believe I started this argument. I think that people should use lightboost if that's what they like. It's all a matter of perception. I myself don't use it, but to someone else a bit of input lag doesn't matter as long as they have a lot of Hz and a lot of frames.

Also bare in mind that in other applications, input lag may have no advantage at all but zero motion blur/persistence could help so yes, there are definitely uses. Tf2 may not be one of the best uses but it's up to the individual!

downpourtornados2111If someone was going to buy this monitor just because of the lightboost feature, I'd suggest against it if you are looking to just play tf2. It adds slight input lag, but more importantly personally haven't found the zero persistence to help much with tracking. In tf2 it's all about the approximate muscle memory, not singling out each frame. If you're running on a high framerate, you're likely getting persistence from say 2 or 3 frames, which doesn't effect hitting or missing someone

Otherwise of course having a good 120/144Hz is amazing :D I have nothing against them in principal, check out the deal!
can you link some sources? i just want to be sure about this because lightboost is the most satisfied with a product ive ever been, the difference from 144Hz w/o lightboost to 120Hz with lightboost is actually incredible and if it does cause input lag then ill be very sad.

What exact sources are you looking for? If you're talking about the input lag, I think you can do it with a quick google search, but from what I remember of it from principal, the idea is that the since the frames are being shuffled into certain "timeslots" since there is black for certain parts of the time it is only natural that there will be slight input lag. Let me make it clear though that this isn't the main point of my argument. In fact it's only very slightly noticeable and if you like lightboost in general, this is DEFINITELY something you can get over. Not a big deal at all

EDIT: Didn't realise someone answered before me

WARHURYEAHIf you donated/donating more than $15 send me an email to warhuryeahdota[at]gmail[dot]com with a screenshot \copy of proof of donation and send me a demo, I will do a review for you, stream it & upload to YouTube.

Will work something up for weapon signings.

I can't donate anyway :(
But for the sake of other people, is that 15 dollars or more, or does over 15 dollars count as like 20?

soneyI'm not exactly using a claw grip or a palm grip, I'm using a fingertip grip which is somewhere between the two. Razer manages to describe it quite well.

oh my god those quotes at the end of the page are hilariously dramatic

Holy shit. How can that be? It's worth also testing cl_showfps 1 and I guess net_graph 1. I never thought that this was possible... I guess it's better not to run that stuff
