while I like the idea, I should note that, for at least the first part of this, you shouldn't really explain rules and formats at all. not inherently because it's a bad point to bring up, mind, but because the most important part of a good game is its core concepts, and as such, for the first section, you should try and explain why we love those concepts.
it's easy to pick from ssbm just b/c of how well-executed its grassroots efforts were, but lemme pick from that again: think about how the first episode of the smash brothers showed the game. it never actually went into much detail over formats or even most of the mechanics until it sufficiently explained just why people find it a beautiful game.
as an example, maybe analyse a recent match in general language (explaining the core things like deathmatching and uber pushes along the way), focusing on a simple overall strategy and what makes them work
