flamewhats the cmd to pick up weapons off the ground
+use_action_slot_item, same key as powerups/grappling hook
flamewhy would you ever bind your mouse1 mouse2 to send 2 commands at once when you can do it on slot changes?
bind 1 "slot1; r_drawviewmodel 0"
bind 2 "slot2; r_drawviewmodel 0"
bind 3 "slot3; r_drawviewmodel 1"
alias +inspecterino "r_drawviewmodel 1; +inspect"
alias -inspecterino "-inspect"
bind f "+inspecterino"
your entire script is some crazy shit, like everytime you melee with your script your viewmodels gonna disappear
teensy addition to this, also:
bind 1 "slot1; alias viewmodel "r_drawviewmodel 0"; viewmodel"
bind 2 "slot2; alias viewmodel "r_drawviewmodel 0"; viewmodel"
bind 3 "slot3; alias viewmodel "r_drawviewmodel 1"; viewmodel"
alias +inspecterino "r_drawviewmodel 1; +inspect"
alias -inspecterino "-inspect; viewmodel"
so once you're done inspecting, it immediately goes to either on or off depending on which slot you're on, so the second you let go of whatever key you got +inspecterino on, it's like it never happened
e: ninja'd, the other one flame showed above this works similarly
posting once in forever as a quick note:
alias +dignity "slot1; +attack"
alias -dignity "-attack"
bind mouse3 +dignity
unless valve realizes how letting people take opposing ubers is not a very good idea, you need a bind similar to this as medic, on something that you can hit almost immediately once you see trouble, or you're otherwise going to become an active detriment to your team. even once you get to the beginning of the switch-in animation, you'll only drop your crossbow
-team signups are at a record low, one league's already blacked out TF2 after only a year
-you've created a metagame where, because things can be banned for being "unfun", nothing ever bothers to develop lest it pisses off a random invite player
-robin even openly told sal this, and everyone's response was to get hostile at the idea, so nothing ever came from his talks since it was clear your side refused to cooperate (have you ever considered why valve doesn't like speaking to y'all since then?)
-you're all still supporting a company that was absolutely okay with using your competitive scene for that sweet cryptocoin, even though now all signs point to them wanting away from you
but no, the problem's, uh, this mode. or that player. or it's holidays, or it's not holidays, or it's raining, or it's sunny, etc etc etc
Ricksmobo show proof of one person that genuinely quit playing competitive tf2 because of gyggly or CHAT IN A PUB and ill eat my fucking shoe
hi
I only came back here because I hoped that the best community member this place has ever seen wanting out would get you to figure out how much needs changing, because I love this game but I cannot stand being near competitive's community for more than five minutes without someone beating the slur that I hear all the time, the one that's turned me into a fucking mental wreck because I'm afraid I'll be beaten and broken until I can't function anymore, and every time I would try to talk against it the only response was doubling down
call me an idiot for feeling hopeful, I guess
clckwrkI'm not justifying anything. I'm telling you your solution is stupid. Because it is true that where you find competition you'll find what you like to define as toxicity
except for all the places you don't have people screaming slurs into your ear, I guess
clckwrkalso real sports != the internet, so please don't argument semantics about two utterly different realms of life
...you're the one who made the comparison? I'm the one who pointed out how silly it was?
??????
I've literally just said "don't say slurs and put a tag into your name if you want". jesus christ, how is this the response of all things
you're trying to justify the shit people do on here as "well everyone else does it"
I understand the point completely, and I think even the most basic sense of self-reflection would make you realize how utterly mental you sound for making it
PS: in real sports, you get shitcanned in an instant for being racist, so perhaps it's better to not make that comparison
bastidPAPASTAINI'm getting reminders of when etf2l told people that you can't use the tftrue setting that reverts the sticky bomb change, during the week-ish that was a thing, and people genuinely telling the admin that they're killing the game
etf2l is trying out new unlocks and players are telling them the same thing, lol
I actually took a glance at that, saw people thinking that direct hit will ruin the metagame
I don't remember the last time I saw someone in ESEA even use a direct hit
I come from smash and FGC. the crowd will literally be right behind you, at times. you will not have space between them, and you will get fucking yelled at
if you think spouting sexual abuse every time you hit someone in TF2 is competition, I don't want your kind of competition
coincidentally, now your top streamer's title is currently "toxic passive aggressive autist plays dead videogame"
wow, look at all this kindness
bastidValve used to make big changes, but players (pub and comp) flipped out on them and scared them into ever changing the game up again. Even if you didn't like them (do you really think Dota players graciously accept every change?), Quick-Fix, Short Circuit, Sticky nerf were all big Dota-style changes that the community rejected to keep the game the same.
I'm getting reminders of when etf2l told people that you can't use the tftrue setting that reverts the sticky bomb change, during the week-ish that was a thing, and people genuinely telling the admin that they're killing the game
I mean, from a logical standpoint, yeah that dmg nerf was prolly the worst way to go about normalizing the sticky launcher (I believe everyone agrees on a blast-radius ramp up, which would be a logical change that emphasizes skill, always the best option when thinking up changes), but people were calling hell over it, so no wonder valve's a bit afraid to change anything
Corsasmobono guys the community isn't toxic
i'm not trying to call anyone out specifically but are you seriously going to pretend that there's no problem when we tell people to kill themselves because they play one of the nine classes in highlander, or tell pubbers to "exit the server" when they die to you? and when someone complains about something, instead of respecting the fact that they might prefer you stop doing something you just brag about the fact that someone is annoyed by your actions.
the comp community has tons of people that show little to no respect for others, and it's the biggest reason why i'm not really a part of the comp scene anymore
Although calling somebody gay, a fag, or telling somebody to "kill youself" is never an appropriate way to handle a situation (Sneaky at least apologized to anybody who he jokingly offended), neither was your team running level 3's on mid to complete drag out the game on purpose. Let's not forget to mention that you guys also had a huge uber ad. and 3-4 more players alive, and you guys still didn't push, staying by the level 3 at mid. If you can't see the hypocrisy in that then you are also a part of the comp scene's problem.
homophobia: basically exactly like someone playing a game in a way you don't like
I genuinely don't know what I can say anymore that wouldn't simply be repeating myself, I'll be honest. this entire conversation is
-we should [do thing]
-why should we [do something else entirely]
-no I said [do thing]
-excuse me what is the use in [doing something unrelated]
etc
