#12 Challengers Cup hosted by teamfortress.tv in News
16jacobj900 dollars might make it worth it for high tier NA teams to give it a shot despite the ping.

They could, but there's something coming up for them too.

#6 Pros vs. YouTubers in Events
deetrIs it a BO3 or do they just play 3 maps? I want to see gpit

All three maps will be played by ETF2L rules and with no whitelist regardless of result.

WholegrainIsn't it a better idea to save this for Tip of the Hats?

Or are you using it to build hype for the event?

This is separately organized and unrelated.

#325 Razer Arena - TF2 Frag Fest (EU&NA) in TF2 General Discussion

The only way to remedy this is have more teams playing. We've put up events for the last two happening this upcoming week, and hopefully we'll be able to get at least 10-12 teams playing if not fill up the bracket. It is important for us to show that we are interested by playing if we want Razer to support us going into the future (and they definitely have big plans for it).

MumaI still think it's a matter of people not knowing/remembering. No event posted on here, and this thread wasn't bumped to announce it to give it at least some eyesight. I know my team would have played, but we didn't see it until Shrugger bumped it 10 minutes after registration ending.

There was an event posted.

It's possible, but it's an odd request that I've never seen before.

#79 FROYO win i55 in News

I think what puts froyotech on top for me personally is how they've achieved everything. They've lost maps, they've lost best-of-three series, and they've even lost the one tournament at the very beginning, but they've always bounced back even stronger - they've won every tournament they've attended except for the first one, including all of 7 LAN tournaments. They haven't been as perfect as Epsilon was, but they've come very close in an arguably more competitive time.

#6 Dreamhack Cluj-Napoca in CS2 General Discussion

Gotta wonder what's happening to DHW with this going on... maybe they're adding more majors a year, or have something special planned, because I can't believe they'd just shift a major from its traditional event without a good reason.

Twiggy@tsc : you put Product instead of Viaduct when telling about reason vs froyo

That's right.

#194 i55 GF – nerdRage.tf2 vs. froyotech in Matches
DofHow come there wasn't another game after Froyo won? Isn't that the point of double elimination, everyone has to lose twice.

The upper bracket advantage was in not having to play the lower final today, as well as getting to both ban second and pick first (AFAIK) during the map selection process. The setup was similar to tournaments like The International, which have best-of-three series for most of the tournament and a best-of-five finals with no point advantage for the upper bracket winner.

#3 i55 Final Summary in News

Thanks to everyone for tolerating my terrible summaries accompanied by bad editing throughout this weekend. I'll try to improve for next time, if I'm not fired outright for this performance.

Of course, there's a need for a big shoutout list. Thanks to:

  • the production team at Insomnia55, who did an absolutely amazing job and invested so much to make this happen. I'll highlight dashner specifically because the man has poured in his life's essence into making this the best event it could be, and deserves nothing more than our highest praises.
  • the teams themselves for giving us some amazing action. I'm still regretting that I was unable to watch the group stages as they happened live, but I could not imagine anything being even better than what we saw in the bracket where everyone played insanely well. Of course, there can be only one champion, and froyotech took that title pretty convincingly, so huge congratulations to them.
  • the sponsors and supporters: Multiplay, YoYoTech, backpack.tf, Bobsplosion, SweetStakes.tf, and even more that I'm forgetting. It took a lot to make this a great event, and you really helped it get to where it went.
  • the other websites, in particular Comp.tf and Saloon.tf. Comp.tf was a great resource throughout the event, keeping up-to-date with all the details, and Saloon.tf made everyone a hell of a lot more lively.
  • the community. You are why everyone behind-the-scenes puts in the amount of effort that they do to put on a good show, and even though I was across the Atlantic shut into my room the past two days, I could feel your hype even more than ever on the forums, on Twitter, in stream chat, and everywhere else.

We should all be proud to be a competitive TF2 fan today, because this weekend we showed the world the best we have to offer, and we're only just starting to unlock our full potential.

There were quite a few issues with playoff VODs, so I don't know which ones will be available, but we will upload the ones that are intact.

#4 [R], Ascent stay alive at i55 in News
CondescendingCandlesticktscand Ascent beat The Last Resort very closely 2-1 (3-2 Granary Pro, 4-3 Badlands).

This is what I get for hoping for a closer match.
