dangoI think posting things like this as news articles on TFTV (especially with front page images) would be really helpful. I almost missed this forum post, and to be honest there isn't much happening in the news posts anyways.
If Dilusive or someone else from Razer Arena would like to work with me on that we can most likely coordinate something.
ESEA has always paid its league admins, and more recently EVL is paying some of its production staff. Other than that, I'm not aware of anyone else in the scene that's getting paid right now.
VODs should now be available!
Charles32Tevsis there no rule on how long the pause can be?
ESEA rules state that pauses must be at least five minutes, and after that any team can unpause with a five second warning. So in theory they can be as long as both teams are willing to stand, but as soon as one team wants to end it they can force the game to resume.
Jason_HeyHope this gets uploaded somewhere, its hard to watch these matches live when youre living in europe :(
Matches are getting uploaded as we type! I'll post here when they are available on YouTube.
SideshowDoesn't change the fact that they won snakewater, as well as sunshine in the regular season. I'd say i55 looks like the most competitive i-LAN ever.
Do keep in mind that FROYO has lost multiple maps online before to eLevate before going to LAN and crushing them. Obviously they do look much shakier here, but online results in NA have never been too indicative of LAN performances when it comes to the top teams.
An interesting stat on that - FROYO has now lost as many maps online this season alone as they have in LAN tournaments since they were formed.
I didn't make it clear - I was referring to viewmodel_fov 54 as the standard.
Thanks to Sideshow for helping me out with the summary for this game!
Hopefully someday he will find some luck and bet on the winning team. :(
Let's clear things up. If the teamfortress.tv broadcast did have a non-standard viewmodel FOV (which it did seem to based on posted screenshots, but I didn't watch the live broadcast), it was indeed an unintentional mistake, in which case we apologize. We do try to standardize our graphics settings, but it's sometimes difficult for us to keep our production crew in sync and occasionally configs do conflict to produce undesirable results like this.
We do not use and are not planning to use transparent viewmodels at any point in the near future.
Clearly the existence of only one thread implies that there's only going to be one division, right?
I swear Slack is probably the best benefit of working for tftv.
Stats aren't really much of my concern since these articles are meant to be a general summary of the match and how it went, but they may be added in future articles with an expansion of the new stats feature on the site.
As for spoilers, it's really a tradeoff between putting out news quickly and not spoiling people, and I feel like the former is more important as something we've been lacking and much simpler and more maintainable. That being said, I'll definitely keep considering ways to balance the two priorities.
For what it's worth, the concept for these articles is heavily inspired by similar coverage articles on HLTV.
Thanks to Insomniuhh for helping me out with the summary for this series!
