#36 Why use P-REC over integrated demo support? in TF2 General Discussion

P-REC won't work after the switch to 64 bits, the Valve developer who originally signed it doesn't work there anymore, and the current developers are not keen on signing it again (something something security something anti-cheat).

Somewhere in the thread, I've seen someone mention that they didn't want killstreaks to be recorded, you can put `ds_min_streak 999` in your config.

E: For what it's worth, there's a willingness from the developers to assist the migration off P-REC, so it's not like I'm screaming into the void

Junomastercoms Raising the game from SSE to SSE2 will allow the compiler to do better optimizations, especially for mathematical calculations (as well as more consistent rounding)
Do you think this would affect wall bugs and other things that occur with rounding issues?

i easily wallbug on cp_process_final so guessing nothing changed in that regard

Brockbecause you would get people offclassing on heavy, full buffed, body blocking a teammate, lets say a demo, allowing them to do high end damage without taking any at all, meanwhile the person in front is buffed and able to do damage. Yea, splash would effect the combo of players doing this, but the effect on scouts would be annoying. Its a very specific thing, I dont think people have thought about it much at all, but if this was the case, if this was changed, people would be trying this shit.

(you can do that in the base game if you stand less than 224hu behind the heavy (1100hu/s * 250ms - 49hu), or alternatively, if you were the last in a row of 5 players)

Wild_Rumpusstickies getting knocked back from a scout/soldier while trying to trap out a choke or catch a pick during an uber happens to me at the very least around once per night of scrims

I'm sure I've witnessed WARHURYEAH (two times ETF2L prem champion) kill himself because of a sticky that bounced on a teammate like that at least once

i'll have a quick read of how the panel is implemented, or at least was implemented as of the time when the source got leaked

E: I've compared the implementations, the spectator hud uses `CTFPlayerPanel`, the match hud uses `CTFTeamStatusPlayerPanel`, `CTFTeamStatusPlayerPanel` is a subclass of `CTFPlayerPanel` (it inherits the data and behavior), however `CTFTeamStatusPlayerPanel` overrides its `::Update(void)` method, so the behavior to track the ubercharge % is lost. You may have been able to show the `chargeamount` HUD variable, but it's just set to an empty string. That seems like a conscious decision, the overridden `::Update(void)` method was copied verbatim from the former and edited to fit the behavior wanted (super, sub).
