anyone wants to add me to friends my dude's name is Tiny Lancer
damn niggaz u actually get shook by somethin some preteen videogame player types to you on the internet?
you wasting opportunity to expand your esports brand better harden up cuz
Played through it.
In case anyone is still on the fence about buying:
Did not like it as much as the first one.
They took away all the "game" mechanics like tinderboxes, sanity meter etc. so you just walk around and there are a few places where you have to play ring around the rosie with enemies. End result was that the game felt less immersive for me and the scary moments were less tense.
There's basically only 1 enemy type (a couple variants on the same thing later on) and tbh i thought they looked kind of ludicrous so after i actually got a good look at it i wasn't really scared of them anymore (contrast with the first amnesia where the enemies made me want to shit my pants to the point where if I got caught I would just stare at a wall until i died because i didnt want to look at them). Most of the effective scares for me were jump scares or just based on the sp00ky atmosphere and environment. Overall I would describe the game more as eerie or unsettling than outright terrifying.
That's not to say the game wasn't scary at all it definitely had its moments. The beginning had me on edge for quite a while and there are some good scares sprinkled throughout but it lost some of its lustre as the game went on. By the end I was sprinting around just trying to progress the story as fast as possible.
The story is pretty interesting until the end, had some neat ideas and I thought it showed a lot of promise (I was actually motivated to keep playing to find out where they were going with it). It had some major Lovecraftian kind of elements/themes going which I'm a fan of. Seems like they didn't really know where to take it though and I thought the ending was sort of anticlimactic. There was a lot of build up and tension from this unseen monstrosity of machinery that you're exploring without being able to see and I was expecting that there would be kind of a sweet payoff moment where you finally get a holistic view and it blows your mind but the sequence which judging by the epic scoring was supposed to be the BIG REVEAL is pretty mundane. Then the game keeps going for quite a while after that. And the second "reveal" at the very end you will see coming from 5 miles away if you paid any attention at all to the rest of the game. I think that was probably intentional, like you're supposed to know while your character doesn't but again that just made it less immersive for me and the ending didn't feel like it paid off.
Overall I would say that it's worth playing if you liked the first Amnesia and wouldn't mind a version thats a bit less scary and has more emphasis on the "plot" as it were, and you don't mind a bit of a let down ending. It's definitely not as good as the first one or the Penumbra games though IMO and you can tell it wasn't developed by Frictional.
shifty1glink ur lastfm ukm !!
who uses last fm? it's 2013
that outdated shit just isn't my scene
thoughts r one thing
actually closing your eyes is not a thought and is really not okay
everyone has a pristine driving record til they get into their first accident dipshit
roamer requires creativity to make plays not sure you'd call it smarts
id say demo requires most intelligence since it's the most powerful damage output but can get punished for positioning errors really easily
you have to be smart to play any class at a top level but relatively speaking you can get away with more on scout/soldier
my name is ukm and im here to say
these suggestions are wack and OP is gay
l0l u cant buy the digital download cuz they still dont have adequate server capacity more than 2 weeks after launch?
NEVERMIND I GUESS
ps remember when you thought THM stood for THERMOMAGE puff l0l
i've been resisting paying for this game but this thread is really calling to my inner mmo nerd help
sounds like how i felt when xbox360 first came out and i tried to play halo3 with friends who were used to controllers
WHY DONT MY THUMBS WORK
FzeroI never meant it to upset anyone, I just decided that it could be like Sci-fi, I could like anime too. I never gave it a shot when I was in school (too stubborn, thinking in was too nerdy then) but now I love most of them. I have watched every single Stargate show, all BSG, all TNG, all Firefly, basically all the Sci-fi that I had clue I would like as a young adult, I love as an adult. So I am assuming the same for this. No one has ever said where to start like that of the sci-fi
as a dude who hasn't watched too much anime I liked:
movies: Akira, Princess Mononoke, Steamboy
shows: Kino's Journey, Mushishi
One thing about anime you have to keep in mind is that japan is really different culturally and it sometimes comes across in certain dialogue/characterization where it might seem kinda awkward or cheesy to your baka gaijin sensibilities (did for me anyway). It's a bit different than just picking up a new genre of western media like sci-fi, but you get used to it.
