Having issues with being kicked from servers because of today's sv_pure change? See the "Rumor has it" section in this post for a fix - simply scroll down.

Avoid solo queueing or being in a 2 or 3-stack for a competitive match due to the likelihood for higher teammate abandon rates than usual to continue for some time, unless you're in a 4 or 5-squad and have verified that you aren't being kicked in something like a casual server.

– Added kill feed icons for blind shooter, kills through smoke, and no scope sniper kills; all kill feed icons feature the bullet on the same line.
– When spawn immunity time is set to a negative value then spawning players will not have immunity even during warmup period.

Rumor has it:

- The new killfeed icons mentioned were actually added with the 4/23/20 (4/24/20 UTC) update, but weren't active until now

- The sv_pure changes of today now mean that custom sprays and models will no longer work without a little bit of convincing towards your local community server operator
- There are currently widespread kicks ongoing as a result of this change
- If you are getting kicked because of this: delete both your \models\ and \materials\ folders in the CS:GO directory (usually "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Counter-Strike Global Offensive\csgo\"). Making a copy both folders in a place like your desktop as a backup if you had custom stuff you want to keep around isn't unwise. Then verify your game files (even if you've already tried to before) and try to play once more.
- Thanks to /u/asantos3, /u/aidsburgerss, /u/Tiezzynator, /u/DezarothAU, /u/HooksAU, and /u/yousifucv for all of their help and currently positive findings so far

- Relevant when under Perfect World influence inside of mainland China: its anti-addiction system wasn't completely ported over to the Panorama UI system, but now it has been
- This is the same system also used in Dota 2 when under Perfect World influence

- New translations have also been thrown in. You know what I'm about to say: they're made possible in part by contributions from Translators Like You - Thank You

TF2 TeamRick May, the inimitable voice of the Soldier for thirteen years, many shorts and countless updates, passed away this April at age 79. We were lucky enough to work with Rick many times in the studio over the past decade. A quick-witted and kind-hearted collaborator, Rick endowed the character with a trademark bellow and bootfulls of idiotic charm. The Soldier wouldn’t be the Soldier without him.

We are honoring Rick during the month of May with an in-game Soldier statue that will play some of Rick’s signature lines. He will be missed by the Team Fortress dev team and community, and remembered for the indelible character he helped bring to life for so many years.

- A pertinent reminder given recent events: always be very wary of and second-guess bold statements of doom and gloom that have no backing, or questionable and/or easily forgeable "proof" crafted to instill fear, uncertainty, and doubt.

- In the Counter-Strike space, ESEA and FACEIT both did not budge, because there was never any proof of imminent danger that would warrant total shutdowns of either platforms

Valve- Fixed a server crash exploit
- Updated localization files

Rumor has it:

- The arrival of this update spells an end to another record-shattering drought of 80 days without an update, with the last one having occurred on 1/18/20 (a Saturday, at that)
- This update is as a result just the 2nd update to occur this year so far
- The previous all-time record drought was a stretch of 72 days from 5/14/19 to 7/25/19 (7/26/19 UTC)
- Before that, the now 3rd all-time longest drought was 63 days, a stretch earlier in 2019 from 1/22/19 to 3/26/19

- If you were a translator and you were itching for the next game update, then good news at last, because this update packs in nearly 3 months worth of your efforts
- Quick FYI, it appears that SteamDB's GameTracking is now properly extracting a bunch more files out again so some of this stuff may have happened literal months ago, in particular the stuff that starts with "hl2/". Changes to files under the "tf/" structure are indeed recent!
- As always, localization file updates are made possible in part by contributions from Translators Like You - Thank You

- Fun fact: this update was almost definitely being tested in a password-protected branch called "jillsquarantinetestingparty" (which has since been deleted ever since this update went out the household doors)
- The name of which is in reference to Washington Governor Jay Inslee's mandatory quarantine in response to Jinping's Plague (see bottom of post for how you can pitch in with the fight!), recently extended through to May 4th

- Size is close to 30 MB

– Updated Diamond Operation Coin materials.
– Fixed several respawn-related bugs in the Co-op Strike mission.
– Fixed a bug in exploding barrels sometimes awarding multiple points towards mission progress.
– Fixed a UI error showing negative number of missions for Diamond Operation Coin owners.
– Fixed a UI error in workshop maps.
– Updated Mac-10 texture UVs for Inferno 2019 Collection.

Rumor has it:

- The MAC-10 skin in question, Calf Skin, now has slightly richer colors because of texture UVs being tweaked

- Not much else aside from a few German and Russian translations, made possible in part by contributions from Translators Like You - Thank You

– Added a game setting to control buy menu starting mouse position.
– Added a game setting to allow ignoring number keys in buy menu.

[ DANGER ZONE ]
– Paradrop crates now have a chance to contain a giant money bonus instead of a rifle.
– Enabled visual item pick up effect for some non-weapon items.

[ ANTI-CHEAT ]
– Users can now report players from their own recently played matches provided the demo is viewed from the Watch Tab.
– Matchmaking has been adjusted to increase the weight of Trust Factor. Users with High Trust who experience cheating in their matches going forward should report those experiences to CSGOTeamFeedback@valvesoftware.com with the subject “Cheating in High Trust Matches.” Please include a link to your steam community profile, approximate time of your match and which game mode you were playing.
– Overwatch users should experience significantly fewer obvious spinbot cases.

– Introducing patches – new customization items which can be applied to any agents you own. Once applied, patches can be removed but not recovered.
– Added support for shuffling equipped agents in their loadout slots.

– Added equipped agent to buy menu.
– Moved display of item purchasability to the buy wheel.
– Bringing up the buy menu will now center the mouse pointer to the middle of the buy wheel.
– Added localization support for position of the currency symbol for in-game prices.
– Added support for editing and previewing crosshair in the game options.
– Added support for sharing and importing crosshair sharing codes.

— Fixed a bomb stuck spot in mid
