bearodactylnow sure how you made that conclusion but even if you were right it's not what op was looking for
what you're describing is the same as putting the fov to 0 which takes away the beam altogether
if you cared to actually read the title of the thread you'd have noticed that he specifically asks how to make the beam less bright not how to remove it

let's be honest this thread got derailed years ago. the relevance ended with pazer's post

if you type "viewmodel_fov -360" it might appear to "work" but it doesn't actually set it to -360

GuacamoleHey, so I don't know if this known yet but if you have this installed and load up an stv demo (not sure if it works for povs don't know why it wouldn't just haven't tested yet), and then go into an MM game, you won't have viewmodels.

Loading a demo is a form of preloading... But I've already got preloading built into the installer now.

The mod doesn't change FOV at all, it moves the viewmodel away from the camera, and that's what's causing the distorted particle effects.

Soon I'm going to revamp the mod so that it always moves the weapon behind the camera. Once that happens, tracers and heal beams should look a lot better.

FunsJust kinda dumb considering the last team we played got a default loss vs us because they were one second late. Rules should more clearly state that if you message admins you can apparently be really late and still play your game. It's sorta unfair to other teams who wouldn't have known about this.

Nobody realized that time limits were going to be this strict, and if your other team had hit the contact admin button and we had seen what happened, we of course would have restarted the match to avoid the forfeit.

Unfortunately with so many games going on that first round, and with this being a completely untested system with some definite issues, it was very tough for us admins to take care of every little issue. It's even tougher for us to pursue issues that aren't brought up to us by you the players, because we're so busy trying to deal with the issues that are brought up that we can't spend time digging for ones that aren't.

I hope that FACEIT takes all of this feedback into account when they work on revising their system, so we can avoid this kind of stuff in the future, for both your sanity and ours. So far they've been nothing but great though, so they do deserve a chance.

  • ds_enable 3 (only record on tournament mode) works for pubs. I don't recall this being an issue on launch but I have dozens of demos from pub servers with this setting.

That's not a bug, pubs are on mp_tournament 1 now.

Valve needs to add an additional check for mp_tournament_readymode 0 so that it only triggers for non-MM mp_tournaments. All leagues use readymode 0, which is team-based ready up, whereas Valve uses readymode 1, which is player-based ready up.

edit: according to erynn pugchamp uses readymode 1, so adding this check would mean valve's demo system doesn't record pugs on that service
