#4 TF.TV Splash Screen in Site Discussion

This should be under the subforum "site discussion".

edit: I like how I'm being downvoted because it was moved to the proper subforum by a mod after my post.

#81 CUtlLinkedList overflow in Q/A Help
BurningSmileFixed thanks for pointing that out. Will provide prof of my claims once I get a VM set up and install a clean copy of Windows 10 with McAfee and then see how it "protects". My source is an IT tech for a living and seeing first hand that McAfee does not do much of anything for protection against malware which is far more prevalent than actual Viruses in todays age. You will notice a LOT of system resource being used from it as apposed to products like MalwareBytes and Avast with the recent update. PUP stand for potentially unwanted program (adware).

Hope that cleared that up. Will get that vm set up now.

I never claimed McAfee is great. It's pure shit. But calling it malware is going a little far, don't you think?

MR_SLINsame :(((
game is crashing every time it tries to start up

hey maybe now this issue will actually get some fucking recognition

BurningSmileThey helped you remove a virus at least. (Mcaffe really is a virus in and of its self being the actual product, That security scan plus is a virus plus a pup) If you have Mcaffe installed remove it and run a scan with MBAM(MalwareBytes Anti Malware) To replace Mcaffe with a working product look at Avast. To properly set it up follow my guide here otherwize it can interfer with TF (like any anti virus product)

with spelling like "Mcaffe", "pup", "otherwize", and "interfer" you sure are inspiring trustworthiness when you have no actual evidence to back up your claim.

also, editing your post to fix your grammar isn't helping your case.

#9 Alternative Viewmodel for MYM comp in Customization
EnterimWorld viewmodels are fine for some classes—most of the time it's just like a moving version of the min viewmodel. Other times you'll get your own cosmetics clipping into your vision.

This is the only proper way to see your glove/sleeve cosmetics in first-person though.

Works great for Pyro and Heavy. Decent on most other classes. Shit on Spy and Soldier. (Spy needs viewmodel cues to know when he's able to backstab and do other things, Soldier's world reload animation is horrendous)

Budia TF2 bug on their side

A TF2 bug on Steam's side? Because this is a Valve problem and Steam Support can't do shit.

DarkNecridTalking to Steam support is pretty pointless about this as it isn't a Steam client or Steam account issue.

Like this isn't what they are supposed to deal with at all really, this needs to just get noticed by a Valve dev asap.

mousiopecalling viewmodels off an exploit its ridiculous (don´t they?) since its a setting that has been present on the game since the beginning

Basically, to sum up the entire exploit/design flaw argument, people that call this an exploit do so because it goes against what Valve tried to do. I don't think of this as an exploit because usually an exploit means taking advantage of a bug, and a bug is a piece of code that isn't functioning as intended by the developers. However, viewmodel animations being added to sv_pure 2 is definitely something that was intended by the developers, they just never intended for it to be used in this way. That's not really a bug, it's more of just a design flaw. No code here is misbehaving, it's doing exactly what they thought they were telling it to do, it's just that their original thought process had a loophole rather than the code they wrote to mirror that thought process.

A little complicated but hopefully it clears the argument up. I never claimed that this doesn't give a huge advantage. It clearly does, I just think that advantage should be available to everyone playing the game as a personal preference, just like viewmodel_fov should be unlocked, and just like how zoom_sensitivity_ratio was finally unlocked.

mousiopeYou´ve honestly should´ve sold it for 20$ or sold it to the people who developp cheats for this game and get a percentage off of it.

Fuck no.

  1. I develop shit for the community for free, without the intention of making a profit. I've gotten some pretty generous donations but I never expected to make a cent doing this.
  2. Never in a million years would I support the fucking cheaters. I don't see my workaround here as explicit "cheating", and if Valve does that's their prerogative, but without a doubt I would never intend to fuck over the players in this community by giving something like this to only blatant cheaters. People arguing in Valve's favor are saying this gives an unfair advantage over players that don't do it, and while clearly it does, I'm of the opinion that Valve should just open this up to everybody rather than restrict it in the first place. The reason I released this was to force Valve's hand in order to open it back up to everybody, not to give a few select people a pretty big edge against their opponents, and selling it to cheat developers would go 100% against that ideology. Fuck that.
