Uks2yttriumthen lol there's a reason this doesn't work on Linux. Even if you were to try running it with WINE I think its DLLs are too deeply rooted in Win32 to load properly.

Again, just tell me what you want disabled and I'll make VPKs for you. It takes like, a single minute of my time.

Thanks for offering but I think it do it through a virtual machine or something, that way I know I can change it if need be.

Okay, then I'll make this easy for you. When looking for the "Team Fortress 2" folder it expects to find vpk.exe and studiomdl.exe under the Team Fortress 2/bin folder. It doesn't care about anything else. Now, those executables do need their corresponding dlls - so here's a zip of a Win32 bin folder. Much lighter than downloading a full TF2 install. Then just copy its output from tf/custom/compviewmodels.vpk.

Paladin_IMSdo you think you could eventually center viewmodels with this as well? i'm not to familiar with smd files, otherwise i'd do it myself. This is as close as I could get using $origin in soldier_animations.qc, but i dont believe you can do this for each animation like you can with an smd edit:
Show Content

as good as this looks, it applies for every soldier animation, and breaks reload and equip animations.

Yeah, what's going to have to happen is I'm gunna have to create alternate SMDs just for centering, and make that a separate option. It'll definitely happen but not for awhile. I'll probably use SFM if I can find a proper pipeline for that.

reeverrbHey, i have the same problem with the installer because i don't run windows. If you're already making a special vpk, one that hides
scout - primary, secondary
soldier - primary, secondary
demo - primary, secondary,
medic - secondary

would be amazing.

Thanks for all the hard work!!!!

#49 Heavy & Pyro: How could they be changed? in TF2 General Discussion
manikWhen is this pyro or heavy balance update happening? Like, how long will the voting stuff go on before the update is released?

I think it's pretty obvious that they haven't actually made the update yet. I'm sure they have ideas for both and they'll finish the one that got the most votes (pyro) soon™

Just updated to version 1.1.

Changelog1.1
Added dedicated "uninstall" button.
Moved buttons to a lower panel for better consistency.
Mod now fully installs even if nothing is checked.
Mod now installs as a single VPK archive rather than a set of loose folders and files.
  • This makes it easier to distribute configurations and wipe over old installs.
The installer now saves your TF2 directory to the registry, and attempts to recall it upon future loads.
  • The registry path is HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\CompVMInstaller\TF2Path

Before you start using this new version you'll need to manually delete the folder "compviewmodels" in your tf\custom folder.

julianc11123:( i guess i'll have to play scout with view model_fov 54 then
thx for replying tho

Tell me what you want hidden and I'll bake a VPK for you to install.

SaMuRa1LTshould i be able to see the 1:07 thing on your video, where you can actually play with viewmodel commands or is it removed by valve now ??

it was supposed to have been removed but it's still there in the source-themed Options > Multiplayer > Advanced menu. it's not there in the regular Advanced Options menu, which uses a TF2 theme. either way they don't work in competitive matchmaking, but they work (just like the cvars work) in everything else.

actorSoldiers and Medics primary weapon, please. Version of my .NET Framework is exactly 4.5.

edited: I meant medics secondary (medigun) sorry...

here

put that in your custom folder. only hides the soldier's rocket launchers (not inspect anims) and medic's mediguns (not inspect anims).

What do you want hidden?

If it's crashing though, you might not have .NET Framework 4.5 installed.

Not really. It's just way too complicated to automate. Now, the mod files generated by the installer can be used on any platform, not just Windows, so if that's the problem I could easily come up with a mod package for you. Just tell me what you want hidden.

chiefdog, if both the old VPK and the new installer don't work for you, it's something on your end bud and I have no idea what it is.
