#44 Blizzard statement on Overwatch cheating in Esports
trashnow that it's almost guaranteed that the top players aren't hacking, I think it's notable to point out that their clips still look weird as fuck regardless, and if they weren't hacking that means the server replays are terrible at capturing move movement, making weird mouse movement (as many FPS pros tend to have) even weirder

that's... worrying. being able to see someone's real-time replay is supposed to be a useful way to check for cheats, yet replays are making innocent people seem fishy

I have a feeling Blizzard will iron out the replay system by the time competitive matchmaking lands in a month. The 60 tickrate will probably also help a great deal.

They're usually very good with replays when it comes to competitive titles, although the only real competitive games they've had in the past that needed replay systems were their RTS titles.

Foxstill a bit confused how someone would still get banned from basically recreating his PC addresses from the ground up

does that mean blizzard bans based on hardware id lmfao

they didn't mention if he reinstalled his OS or not, it's possible it just left a registry key.

#5 CPU/Mobo Upgrade Checklist? in Hardware
hookyIf you have a dedicated video card, you obviously should install the driver from the manufacturer's website. GeForce Experience and Raptr aren't necessary, but GeForce Experience is nice for letting you know about updates. For Intel graphics, whatever Windows installs should be fine.

Actually, if you're running Windows 10, it will detect your dedicated card and automatically download the latest driver from NVIDIA's site and install it for you. Fairly certain it does the same for AMD.

#6 mp4 to wmv batch converting? in Off Topic
_KermitI'm pretty sure you could queue them up in handbrake.

this, handbrake is just a frontend for ffmpeg for the majority of video conversions, but it's far easier to use

#10 whats killing my fps in overwatch [gpu or cpu?] in Hardware

I brought up CPU because I've personally run the game on the lowest possible settings (including viewport scale) and managed to keep around 60 FPS on a shitty NVS 5400M, based on the GeForce 540M chip. However the CPU used was a mid-range mobile Ivy Bridge i5 and 8GB RAM.

Obviously you should upgrade both, but the CPU is the biggest bottleneck right now. You're going to want at least 4 threads if you want OW to start being GPU bottlenecked. For instance, a Sandy i3 handily beats the G3258 just because it has hyperthreading (dual core + HT).

It would help but not very much.

#6 whats killing my fps in overwatch [gpu or cpu?] in Hardware

You'll need both a new CPU and GPU for OW. You might be able to get by on the GPU front if you're okay playing at low, but you won't get respectable framerates even at low until you upgrade that CPU. Blizzard games are notoriously CPU-bound. I'd also consider going to 8GB of RAM.

#5 TF2 Stuttering in Q/A Help

it won't throttle anywhere near that

do you play borderless or full screen normally? and what OS?

also with that much CPU usage there must be something else going on in the background. what other processes are using the CPU? screenshot task manager's Processes (7) or Details (8, 10) tab, sorting by CPU usage
